President Obama is finalizing plans to move federal agents, equipment and other resources to the border with Mexico to support Mexican President Felipe Calderón's campaign against violent drug cartels, according to U.S. security officials.

In Obama's first major domestic security initiative, administration officials are expected to announce as early as this week a crackdown on the supply of weapons and cash moving from the United States into Mexico that helps sustain that country's narco-traffickers, officials said.
MSNBC News article

It appears that Obama is fixin' to bring out the sledge hammer now.........

............methinks that quite a few more illegal aliens will be snagged as well.

"This is what people miss when they analyze Mexico. Drug trafficking feeds on a country that has a very precarious, if not nonexistent, rule of law," said Denise Dresser, a Mexican political scientist.
When people are accustomed to no “rule of law” in their country of origin, we certainly can’t expect them to respect ours. As mentioned on this board ad nauseam, it is this culture of corruption illegals from Mexico bring to this country. Whenever a poster dares to mention this fact, he/she is accused of Mexico-bashing, or racism. Well, the quoted statement was made by a Mexican political scientist. I guess she is also a Mexico hater and racist.

A better method:
They know the locations of said drug leaders, their base of operations etc.
Lets HALO in some of our nastey boys and let them do what they do best.
Within 24 hours we cut the head from the snake. Let the idiots who survived kill each other off for dominance. When they re-establish repeat step 1.
Lets leave Mexico and their corrupt system out of it because they will only warn the bad guys we are coming anyway.
Depending how many places we want to hit will depend on what package we send in.
I would guesstimate we would need no more than 200 taggers to achieve step 1.
Extract the men by helo or use the drug cartels own runways. Its not a difficult mission.

Actually: Calderon is using essentially as you described------------hence in large part the idiots indeed killing one another off. Apparently; 90% of the murders SoB involve drug cartel foot soldiers.

Bingo! This is precisely why we have been wasting our money by offering financial support to Mexico to fight drug trafficking. Corruption permeates the entire Mexican government; and we all know the drug cartels own those trucks our government stupidly allowed unfettered access to our country. Who knows how many truckloads of drugs, illegals, and cartel members entered this country with the blessings of our government.

Agreed. When virtually an entire population of a country lives their entire lives in a state of denial of the problems within themselves, their country, their government and their culture, what do you expect?

Despite the fact that many of us on numerous occasions have clearly stated that many of our government officials and the corporate crooks bare a share of responsibility for the illegal alien invasion of this country, it seems that it's not enough. They seem to blame America for all of mexico's woes in defense of their heinous criminal acts committed on American soil, their raping of this country and their co-dependent behavior. Additionally, they all seem to believe that nothing is ever their fault or responsibility.

After all: We left our borders open; we allow them to receive taxpayer funded benefits; educate their children and provide ESL, breakfast, and lunch ; we reward their illegal alien offspring with citizenship, we give them drivers' licenses and the list goes on.

I have keys to my neighbors house and she has some really beautiful jewelry and I know where she keeps it. But I've never thought about entering her apartment and stealing it. Why? Because I am honest and respectful of the rights and property of others. Her trust and our mutual respect of one another is more valuable to me than anything money can buy.

I suppose it has never occurred to any of them that what they are doing is wrong and simply because you can get away with something doesn't mean that it's ok to do it.

Of course when you don't know any better you can't do any better. However, it doesn't mean that we should be forced to accept it or live with the consequences of their culturally embedded issues.

I can't believe I still catch myself wondering why my level of outrage and shock finds new heights to reach. Somehow, each time I read yet another story about the arrogant demands, barbarism and criminal acts of those squatting in this country illegally it does.
