The United Negro College Fund has been in existence for many years (ďA mind is a terrible thing to wasteĒ), as have other ethnic-based scholarships. However, thereís a huge difference between ethnic scholarships for legal residents, and scholarships to assist illegal aliens. Whenever a program aids and abets illegals, it only encourages more illegal immigration.

The scholarships I linked to are for Irish Nationals, as those scholarships would be for Mexican nationals (or nationals from other Latino countries). I would disagree if taxpayer funded, but they do provide these types of scholarships for other foreign nationals wishing to attend college in the US.

Yes, there are numerous scholarship funds for foreign nationals legally studying in our country. Itís great that these students can avail themselves of much needed college financial aid. After all, they are playing by the rules. However, the scholarships referenced in the OP are specifically for students who are in this country in flagrant violation of our laws. I donít believe we should reward lawlessness, nor should we legitimize their presence.

Excuse me, missinggreen, If you could very kindly PM me the email of this college that you used, I would be grateful. I, too want to write them about this. This is an outrage!

Is this a private organization? If so it's their money they can do whatever they want with it. If it's public then I will agree it is a problem.

Correct me if Im wrong(and I am frequently am) but, I thought it was a felony to aid and abet an illegal alien. Illegal scholarship funds just sounds like an oxymoron to me. Go figure.

Well you're not wrong this time my friend. It is indeed a felony and yet another law we need to demand enforcement of. We could start with the prosecution of: Luis[e] Guiterrez and continue with: LaRaza, LuLac, Maldef, the ACLU, the Chamber of Commerce, Dick Durbin, Barack Obama the majority of congress and continue until dooms day . . .

Section 274 felonies under the federal Immigration and Nationality Act, INA 274A(a)(1)(A):
A person (including a group of persons, business, organization, or local government) commits a federal felony when she or he:
* assists an alien s/he should reasonably know is illegally in the U.S. or who lacks employment authorization, by transporting, sheltering, or assisting him or her to obtain employment, or
* encourages that alien to remain in the U.S. by referring him or her to an employer or by acting as employer or agent for an employer in any way, or
* knowingly assists illegal aliens due to personal convictions.

Aiding, abetting, harboring, encouraging illegals a felony
