Apparently they posed the question to a different group, because they first indicate that 20% voted yes to in-state tuition; then they state that 32% voted yes to in-state tuition.

Another poll question: "Should we admit illegal aliens into our colleges?" Response: 61% voted YES, 39% voted NO

It is not 20+32. They are the same question.
So people are not so much as opposed to them being accepted into colleges as they are to the instate benefit. The link should have provided a link to the pdf of the poll but thanks for clarifying.

Yes, according to this particular poll. I have no objection to illegals attending college, as long as they are not displacing a U.S. citizen; they do not receive in-state tuition; they do not receive tax-funded scholarships; and they are not given a “path to citizenship” by virtue of their college attendance, aka DREAM Act amnesty.

I am not opposed to illegals attending college...AS LONG AS THEY ARE ATTENDING COLLEGE IN THEIR OWN COUNTRY.

If they are in our country illegally, or they were born of parents who are in our country illegally, then they have no right to attend U.S. colleges or universities, much less on taxpayer money.

Keep an eye on the DREAM Act. They are trying to push for this again. I can’t endorse a bill that would grant amnesty to illegal aliens simply because they attend college for 2 years. Mind you, they don’t even have to graduate. Now tell me, what type of job will they get with less than a 4-year degree in this competitive environment?

The most egregious aspect of this bill is that it would reward their criminal parents, who would eventually be amnestied as well through their offspring sponsorship. It’s simply piecemeal amnesty -- millions of illegals would benefit.

I would think legal foreign students have the right to sue for discrimination -- they are very often charged more tuition -- because they chose to abide by the laws while those students here illegally are rewarded not only with in-state tuition and very often financial aid.

Illegals should not be given preference or tuition breaks that legal foreign students don't have.

They can go home and apply like others to come as a legal foreign student.
