we'll have to wait and see about that. i would have no problem with these people voting for issues that affec them and their families. i.e. school board, county tax hikes. municipal stuff.

lets see what happens.

Excuse me?

My post also stated that green card holders (legal aliens) do not qualify to vote-------the right to vote is reserved for US citizens, period.

I do have a problem in what you just stated. The vote should only be for US citizens here in th United States of America.

Somehow; I suspect that Mexico would not allow legal residents SoB to vote for dog catcher let alone their prez...........

Voting rights are for US citizens. period. If a legal resident wants the privilege they need only fulfill the requirements to gain citizenship and then they do will be allowed to vote.

Bill would let non-citizens of U.S. vote in local elections | Portland Press Herald (http://pressherald.mainetoday.com/story.php?id=247244&ac=PHnws - broken link)
Benicar, I haven't read the article yet so I appologize if I dicuss something that is already adressed.

First of all, no one should be allowed to vote unless they are citizens of the US. By saying non citizens, I don't think they were referring to illegals. It could mean legal residents.

Either way, we should not allow this to happen.

Also, when the majority of voters in these "local elections" are the non-citizens, I wonder what laws they will try to pass. Oh, heres's an example below:

"A Santeria priest who sued a Texas city for denying him permission to sacrifice a goat as part of a religious ceremony "
