President Obama has nominated John Trasvina to be assistant secretary for fair housing and equal opportunity at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.

Trasvina has served as president and general counsel at the Mexican American Legal Defense and Education Fund since 2006. His impressive resume also includes special counsel for immigration-related unfair employment practices under President Clinton. He holds a bachelor's degree from Harvard and a law degree from Stanford.

And if that doesn't make you feel inadequate enough, he also is a member of the city's Elections Commission, president of the Harvard Club of San Francisco, and a board member of La Raza Lawyers Association...

Why do you red bold MALDEF? You guys have a problem with them too?
And why's he a "La Raza" member...I thought La Raza was synonymous with NCLR?
Not the lawyer association he was affiliated with.

Why is that so worrying?

Damn! A Mexican-American can't do anything! LOL
A Chicano can't walk into a government building without a mop without you guys causing an uproar!

I'd like to say I'm surprised, but I'd be lying.

Apparently, tax cheaters can't help him bring in more anchor babies and illegal aliens.

So “La Raza” is now synonymous with brown folks. I thought the latest definition was “the community.”

Why do you people continue to turn every discussion into one of race? I posted the thread not because the guy is Hispanic; and my reference to La Raza and MALDEF also do not have an ethnic or racial basis. Both La Raza and MALDEF are notoriously pro-illegal; which was the purpose of emphasizing his affiliation with said organizations. Everything is Not about race. This is beyond pathetic.

Please indicate where I used the term “Hispandering” or made ANY reference to race or ethnicity. Unless you can, you really need to stop trying to portray me as a racist. It’s baseless, and you know it.
