I was just wondering what groups has had the most influence in Washington to prevent any immigration reform (except for blanket amnesties) from occurring in the past 20-30 years.

Big Business (which includes all the large farming and agricultural companies) love illegal labor because they don't have to pay them decent wages and benefits. They give hundred of thousands of dollars to politicians every year to keep the borders open.

The many racist/ethnocentric and some religious groups also have a big influence in Washington on immigration matters. We know all about La Raza and their wide open border agenda. I don't know about the extent of the lobbying efforts of these groups or how much money these groups have but it is considerable.

I feel that Big Business probably has the most influence becuase they have the most money ( billions of dollars) to spend. What do you guys think?

The corporate elite own this country; and they will do anything to keep their cheap illegal labor, even if it means NEVER passing another amnesty. They'll settle for the status quo.
