Mr bear and others, you need to understand that spanish culture preceded anglo culture in a large part of what is today US territory, now look around the world and tell me of a spot that was occupied by another
culture and made the native one dissapear, examples; the former soviet republics, south africa, ireland, the former yugoslavia republics, canada,
just to mention a few.
A "de facto" reconquista has ocurred in the United States and Spanish
has become a strong second language, the almost 50 million people of
spanish descent in the US(that are US citizens), and fastest growing ethnic group will ensure that, the fastest growing tv networks in the US
are spanish speaking.
Not to mention the contribution of the probably 25 million undocumented spanish speking people. Sorry Bear, this is latino country for good.LOL
So.....what? What exactly is so wonderful about 'latino' culture that you wish/desire to usurp American culture with it?
Is it the misogyny? The corruption? The classism? The racism? The illiteracy? The tribalism?
Seriously......what is so damn great that latino culture must trump american culture? And how ironic is it that the people crowing most about a new 'latino' version of the US are the same people fleeing from the latino culture of South and Central America.

And to run with your ball further: about the worst thing that could happen to dark skinned people here would be if the USA went Hispanic. Us White folks would still be at the top of the socio-economic food chain but it would be more deeply enshrined by custom.
Do the Spanish speaking Mestizos really want that?

No sir, we get a whole lot of that from our red neck/anglo/hillbillie culture,
hispanic culture is rich in family values, education, and ethics, make a trip
to one of our high end educational institutions, they are full of hispanics, and asians

Uhmmm... I don't see it that way, it may be that the anglo homeless population increases, you know, is a fact that the vast majority of homeless are anglo(not latin ancestry like spain/portugal/france/italy), due to their poor family values, also high among them is the use of substances like drugs, tobacco, and alcohol, do you know that hispanics in the US
are the racial group with less incidence of substance abuse, and mental illness?????
I use the FedEx website on a daily basis at work. Their website used to have the option of English or Spanish for the USA. They recently updated their site, and the Spanish option is GONE!!!!
FedEx is a rather cutting-edge, well-managed company. They know the tide is turning.

There is no Hispanic race and you know that.
As for an actual 'ethnic' group with low levels of alcoholism; try the Jewish people. OTOH Latinos: they do have a problem with excessive drinking--------witness their high numbers of crashes and DUI's per capita.
BTW: an Anglo here in Arizona is any non Hispanic White---------including people of French, Italian, Arabic, Iranian, Hungarian and (usually) Portuguese lineage.
Again: Mori-vivi; your knowledge is sorely lacking at best.

HOORAY!!
That does not surprise me being that the use of Spanish here in the USA is increasngly being frowned upon in mainstream society.

If you get a lot of your culture from rednecks/anglos and hillibillies, then. the institution must be a prison right here in the USA. Bet you invented that " rap" music stuff at the same time. Last I heard all those "family values" got left in the mad scramble across the border. Go figure.
