This guy didn't even speak English. I highly doubt he was reading anything written by pro-border types even the more radical ones.

He wasn't motivated by any pro-borders thought. He was saving face maybe with the immigrants he decided to kill but apparently was angered that the center wasn't giving him what he thought it should.

Yes this incident, which is what the thread was about, is not just about a psychopath. It is about our culture. It's about the overzealous nature of people trying to prove their point using hate language. It's in every thread.

This is the consequence of this sort of hatred.

Translation: It's not my fault my rhetoric whipped impressionable people I'm responsible to LEAD into illegal acts themselves.

Read any thread on this entire immigration forum and y'all can round up the guilty parties (and find yourself embarassed being rounded up). Many on the anti illegal side of the aisle, whether you believe it or not, have been the guilty parties of misconduct in this forum. Naturally the de facto defense will be 1st amendment rights, how dare I rob you of an opinion. That right accompanies a serious personal responsibility, one that few have embraced completely, but are all too quick to chase after others as irresponsible. It doesn't matter which side of the issue you stand. When you cross that line of personal misconduct, you diminish America in ways that make it not worth defending.

The other side of the aisle from yourself Malamute, LaRaza is guilty as hell.

No doubt in my mind people are stuck seeing nothing more than what they want to see. That is until bricks of reality land on their heads. Willing to explore the truth more deeply, you might ask yourselves why a legal immigrant would lose faith in the promise of the american dream enough to behave as he did. This wasn't ALL in his head. Some of it came from our own culture. Make your words impeccable.
No -- this guy wasn't enough part of our culture to be influenced by anyone in it. He spoke little or no English, he wasn't reading anything about immigration pro-or-con. It's doubtful he was even aware of the debate around immigration.

The news today is getting closer to the truth. He was angry with the other immigrants because he thought they were laughing at him for not being able to learn English. Maybe the immigrants made fun of him -- but he didn't kill people at a pro-border enforcement meeting for the reason he probably never even knew they exist.

He was part of that immigrant center, he felt they weren't giving him what he was entitled to be given. He plotted against the other immigrants who he thought were making fun of him -- maybe they were, maybe they weren't. Maybe he was just angry because they were motivated English learners and he wasn't making the effort so thought they'd get ahead of him.

This guy is another good example of why there's a problem. He wasn't capable of assimilating, wasn't very employable.

Jiverly Voong, gunman who killed 13 in Binghamton, hated U.S., felt 'degraded' over his bad English

More on the killer. He hated the USA and apparently hated the other immigrants for picking on him, mocking him.

And more:

http://www.nytimes.com/2009/04/05/ny...ef=global-home

Mr. Wong had been taking citizenship classes at the American Civic Association until the first week in March,

Very unlikely a legal citizen was taking citizenship classes, almost as unlikely as someone coming here at age 13 and being here for 28 years still being unable to speak or learn any English.

What's with the media? First they report he was brought here to work at IBM and was part of the IBM layoff and that turned out to be a lie. They claimed he was a long-time citizen which has also turned out to be a lie.

They wanted so much for this to have been another kind of story, one that would support their agenda.

You mean it's unlikely a legal immigrant is still in the process of becoming a citizen? Huh?

Why are you putting so much energy into fitting this into your agenda?
Some nut went psycho and killed a bunch of people.
Why are you trying to attribute this to illegals and "pro-immigration" types?

Pretty much, but going at lengths of doing 5 posts in a row desperately trying to attribute this to immigrants/illegals/pro-immigrants is in poor taste considering the kind of tragedy this is.
I mean a lot of people died, many of which are immigrants themselves.

Because your side was the ones trying to make this about the pro-borders enforcement side, trying to claim that this guy was reading our posts or something and decided that even though he is an immigrant himself that he would take a violent anti-immigrant approach to a problem.

I'm pointing out that this guy is hardly your shining example of a pro-borders enforcement type or that immigration discussions influenced this act of violence he committed.

You're the ones who wanted so badly for this guy to be some kind of anti-immigration type so you could exploit a tragedy.

We're the ones?
only one person made that comment!
And that person only made one comment, asking to not make this an issue of hate.
You desperately scrambled out 5 posts pushing your agenda into it.
And you swear immigrants haven't been murdered recently for that persons call for peace to make you so indignant.
