so far the judges are on the right path. hopefully these folks who followed the rules are given their citizenship.
some of the cases are just absurd. one woman, whose spouse died while working as a border patrol, is about to get deported because he died before the papers were finalized. a guy protecting our borders!
Well, that's just plain idiotic. In specialized cases such as these, the government should always err on the side of humanity.
I agree. You just HAVE to wonder if people even GLANCE at some of the orders they're signing.....(or maybe the judge was just running late for his tee-time down at the golf course).
Idiotic, moronic decisions like this take away credibility from the whole system.
If possible, I'd like to imagine SOMEBODY'S going to end up embarrassed by this....

While I sympathize with the loss of these women, citizenship is NOT a right, it's a privilege. We all know that many foreigners marry for no other reason than to obtain citizenship and since their spouses are dead, that is not a reason to automatically make them immune from deportation. However, if they have lived the lives of potentially model citizens, and can financially take care of themselves, then I agree citizenship should at least be considered.
That being said, the US has the most generous immigration policy on the planet. We have our share of legal immigrants and somebody elses'. Add to that pot the estimated 15-20 million illegal aliens and it spells the decline into 3rd world populations and living conditions.
It's time for America to get it's own house in order and stop taking on the worlds' social and poverty stricken burdens at the expense of our tax dollars and caring for our own citizens.
At the end of the day a temporary moratorium on ALL immigration is very much needed and long over due. It's time to blow out the lamp . . . .

Absurd. If this woman was here legally, was going through the legal hoops and proper paperwork, why on earth is she being deported while millions of illegals who never made any or very little effort to come here legally and should not be here are expecting a big blanket amnesty.
This thread should be in the legal immigration forum because it doesn't have to do with illegal entry or breaking any law. The widow in that article does not seem to have entered the country illegally, never lived or worked here illegally.

For at least 10 years, in my opinion anyway from ALL countries.
Agreed. It’s traumatic enough to lose a spouse. At least they were not illegal, and they were in compliance with our laws.

As the rest of you stated............which ties into legal immigrants being welcome here in the USA.
