So then, this is the "Change we can believe in".
Nobody will ever fix this problem, so long as there's a consortium between the federal government and corporations seeking the cheapest labor possible, followed by more fodder for consumerism.
yes but their birth assured them american residency, mission accomplished.
they may have poverty here but if they stay in mexico they will have poverty.
Illegals have their anchor babies in this country so they can declare them as legal citizens and have them receive free services.
Of course they live in poverty. Most illegal immigrants are hispanic, and hispanics are notorious for multiple births. This translates to a high immigrant population that reproduce faster than mice, and do not have the capability of supporting their anchor babies financially.
This proves that all the free assistance provided by Uncle Sam does nothing to lift people out of poverty. In fact more hand-outs often lead to more poverty.
Poverty can be eliminated with self-help, self-control, and faith in our Savior, Jesus Christ. Many hispanic immigrants come from Christian backgrounds but expect God to do everything for them without any effort on their part. The Lord helps those who help themselves.

Because poverty in the USA means food stamps, Medicaid, free government housing, WIC, and much much more.
Obviously they are not coming to work hard and better themselves, you don't do that by having children out of wedlock, having baby after baby that you cannot feed. The cost of living here is much much higher than back home, and these people don't have the education or job skills.
I'll do one even better. Here in New York, illegals are "supposedly" not eligible to recieve any benefits, but you CANNOT ask them their legal status, it's against the law. So, when they go apply for Welfare, they CAN get it. BTW- The house next door to mine has about 20 people living in it. A one family house has been chopped up into three apartments and there are 4 cars that belong to that house. How does that translate to poverty again??

It's called working the system. BTW if the flu gets worse that 20 people crammed in there will be a hot spot for it.
If your parents are here undocumented, or are citizens of other nations, you are not an American citizen.
Oh wait, I was dreaming.
Maybe one day, the people we elect as being smart, will wake up.
