Default Los Diablos Tejanos: aka modern day minute men

Los Diablos Tejanos

No history of the U.S. conquest of Mexico is complete without an account of the atrocities committed by the notorious Texas Ranger companies, dubbed Los Diablos Tejanos by the Mexicans they terrorized...

This has nothing to do with todays Minute men that sit at the border and alert the patrol when they see illegals . Give me a break. When you have something of real to post let us know.

Uh-huh.

1846 was a long time ago. People on every side did terrible things to each other. Remember the Alamo? (1836) After all of the defenders were dead, the Mexican Army bayoneted and mutiliated the bodies of those who died defending it. They also killed the nine and ten year old sons of one of the fighters after taking the Alamo, as well as an unarmed black woman.

Lt. Colonel William Travis sent several riders, including James Bonham, to Colonel James Fannin for assistance. Fannin, commander of over 450 Texas forces at Goliad 100 miles (160 km) southeast of the Alamo, attempted an unorganized relief march with 320 men and cannon on February 28 to the Alamo, but he aborted the relief column, citing poor transportation. Fannin and most of his men were slaughtered by a Mexican force after surrendering. Jim Bowie is reported by some survivors to have been bayoneted and shot to death in his cot.

Your article has about as much relevance to the Minutemen of today as mine.

WOW, quite a stretch trying to compare the people of today with the people of 161 years ago... I haven't heard of the huge massacres occuring at the border at the hands of the Minutemen as of today, but I will start paying extra close attention, you never know...

So are these "minutemen" crossing the Mexican border and attacking Mexicans? Or are they shooting at legal immigrants? No one should be comming across the border except at designated checkpoints. They should be picked up and escorted back home. Don't want to cooperate? Then arrest them and send back. If someone feels their life is in danger from lawbreakers shoot back. Nothing wrong with this.

Retired and bored? Life's good isn't it? I think so, but it could be better.

I bet your idea (post above) has never been thought of! OK, just being a
smart (_!_), but seriously, it's complicated and troubling for all involved.

Your input is noted; there's atrocities past, present that are embarassing, negative, intolerable, etc...if we can look at our past mistakes and make corrections or adjustments, life will have improved that much more.

I suggest a mine field. Some Mexicans are trying to make this out to be a war, so let's give them what they want.

boomer, have you solved the fighting going on in the middle east that has gone on for at least a 1000 years. Seems they can't correct their past mistakes.

What makes you think letting in millions of illegals will correct our past mistakes ?
