When a child of a E2 visa holder turns 21 they have to go back to the country they were born. Some of the parents own companies for over 10 years and 1 of the requirements is that they have to have American employees.
So isn't it heart breaking when a child turns 21 they have to leave their family behind and go back to a country they only were when they were a young child and after being in school for all these years in the USA.
They came here in a legal way and the parents are paying a lot of taxes, are employing Americans and as a punishment their kids are sent back, just if they were illegals?

Aww, is that you that's going to have to go back? I guess your parents weren't aware that you'd have to go back to your own country when you turned 21? They didn't know that that was one of the regulations in getting an E2 visa when they so eagerly applied? Wow. You mean that you haven't even visited your real country every year to keep in touch? What about all of those nice relatives back home? If you're going to whine so much about going back to your own country, we'll just have to do away with the E2 visa program.

It's not sadder than for American children whose parents are relocated in a job or other reason. Or for American children growing up in a military family who may need to pack up and move from time to time. Nor any sadder than American children living in a foreign country because their parents work there and then relocate back to the states.
It's actually an experience to live in more than one country. Some kids have an opportunity to study in a foreign country but that doesn't give them a right to decide to live in that country forever. They come back home but have the learning experiences they keep.

Heartbreaking? Not exactly. The kid has a great education and should be able to make a life for himself anywhere he wants. I suppose the child could also apply for his own visa for either this country or any country of choice. I don't see it as punishment, just terms of the agreement.
