Yep yep. We just have to '"Remember the 1986 Amnesty Bill!". (Sorry to invoke the Alamo). We cant let people be suckered into another, "Well if you will just grant the CURRENT ILLEGALS amnesty we will Promise to enforce border/immigration laws." I'm afraid its been long enough ago politicians may attempt this style push to appease both groups, us and them. We just cant let the wool be pulled over our eyes.

My thought isn't deporting them for the crime of being illegal (though I would certainly LOVE that).

My idea is why can't they be deported for committing an ADDITIONAL crime (theft, assault, burglary, etc.) regardless of what crime it may be. That would be (though not perfect) a HUGE step in the right direction.

Their illegal presence in and of itself is a crime worthy of deportation. However, on many occasions they murder Americans while DUI and get away with it by fleeing all responsibility for their actions. Nonetheless, at this point it appears that we should be grateful for any form of enforcement.

Oh I agree it's worthy of deportation by itself.

I'm simply suggesting that increasing enforcement to when they commit ANY other crime would be a great step in the right direction.
