Default Do-nothing elected officials

Why won't our elected officials come up with a good plan to control immigration? Do they live in a bubble where they don't see the problems? Any other ideas other than they want to make all the illegals legal so they'll get votes?

Officials will live to regret that they did not undo illegal immigration, and their legacy will not look good in history. They can undo much of it now, but it may take a strong protest by citizens.

I agree that we must protest but the problem is that people are so comfortable in their happy lives they just don't care enough, they feel it doesn't affect them and until they see the light it's just not going to happen.
We need massive protests, something that would scare our Gubberment into listening to the the people who elected them, I'm not talking about violence but massive protests at our capitols in every state, something that would make them understand we are fed up.

Default Have I got a protest for you!!!!

The Federation for American Immigration Reform is sponsoring the 2007 Hold Their Feet to the Fire grassroots America lobbying effort in Washington D.C. from April 23-25.

As we all know, talk of amnesty is rearing its ugly head again and we need to do everything that we can to defeat this.

If you would like to come to Washington D.C. and lobby our elected officials, please go to the following link for more information:

http://www.fairus.org/site/PageServe...eettothefire07

If you are unable to attend in person, please lobby from your own home by calling your elected officials. FAIR will provide you with contact information.

If you have any questions, please contact FAIR.

We all need to pitch in and step up. If you live in the district of a newly elected freshman Democrat, you are vitally important as we need to make sure we communicate the importance of illegal immigration. Many of them will be reluctant to go along with amnesty as they want to preserve the new Democratic majority. So bombard your Congressperson with letters, telephone calls, emails, and faxes.

We also need activists to call their local talk show hosts to encourage them to participate live from D.C. a la Roger Hedgecock and others.

Update 3/19

Feet to the Fire 2007

There's an old expression that if you want to get politicians to
see the light, make them feel the heat. That's just what FAIR
and dozens of radio talk show hosts from around the country are
planning for April!

As spring approaches, the illegal alien advocacy network is planning a
series of public events demanding that Congress enact amnesty and open
borders policies.

It is essential, that American citizens express their opposition to
AMNESTY IN ANY FORM and demand ENFORCEMENT of our immigration laws!

Already, more than 2 dozen leading talk shows, hundreds of their
listeners and reform activists from across the
country will join FAIR and popular San Diego talk show host
Roger Hedgecock in Washington during the week of April 23 to broadcast
live from "Radio Row" on Capitol Hill.

The four day schedule of activities includes, press conferences, live
interviews with Congressmen and Senators, and other receptions and
special events designed to put radio hosts, listeners, and hundreds of
activists together at the front lines of the illegal alien amnesty
debate.

If you would like to join us for this monumental national grassroots
effort in Washington, please take a moment to register now to receive
updates and to reserve your place at this year's events including
lobbying training, Congressional meeting scheduling, press conference,
reception and attendance at other events.

Hotel space is limited so make your reservations now! Contact the
Phoenix Park Hotel at 202-638-6900 and use the FAIR reservation code
10560 to receive the discounted rates (single room rates are $239 per
night, double room rates are $269 per night).

Please contact FAIR at 202-328-7004 for additional information or
visit our Hold Their Feet to the Fire information page.
http://www.fairus.org/site/R?i=bTxLrNgAwotpUxfpnInBGA..

Our opponents will be pulling out all the stops in their effort to
pass an illegal alien amnesty in 2007, and we must be equally as
adamant in demonstrating to the White House and Congress that such a
plan is vehemently opposed by the overwhelming majority of Americans.

Please join us for this landmark grassroots effort to stop amnesty in
2007!

This is just what I worry about, that people in areas not yet feeling effects of illegal immigration would still be comfortable and not thinking it will affect them, so they do nothing. They cannot see this 'ocean' of trouble coming their way, troubles that do not go away but get worse and worse every year.
Calif., Arizona, Nevada, Oregon, parts of Texas, New Mexico, and Wash. and all major cities USED TO BE comfortable as you are now! Please look at the devastating effects of illegal immigration in these states and know it's coming for you wherever you are in the U.S. Time to act is NOW.
