I can attest to that. I am one of those self-described "liberals" who is very anti-illegal; and I have many relatives and friends of the same persuasion. Contrary to popular opinion, opposition to illegal immigration is not exclusive to right-wing conservatives.

Right before the dem party left me standing at the alter too. Common sense has a way of doing that to people.

You are correct! This is not a left-right issue. This is a US issue. What type of respect do we as legal Americans have for our rule of law if we allow hordes of people, who are not citizens, to break our existing laws and we do little or nothing about it? In fact, our government uses our tax dollars to reinforce their illegality. This demoralizes and I believe, minimizes the legal status of being a US citizen which I was taught was a very special privilege.

There really should be no debate. They certainly donít accuse opponents of other illegal behavior as being racists or mean-spirited. Why even have laws if they arenít going to be enforced? I agree, itís an affront to every U.S. citizen, and makes a mockery of our rule of law.
