Dear Texas friends,

SB 358, which would prohibit local government "sanctuary city" policies that protect illegal aliens, needs just one more vote to pass the Texas State Senate. The group Immigration Reform Coalition of Texas (IRCOT) is requesting calls and emails to all Democratic Senators asking them to vote YES on SB 358 when it reaches the floor. All Republican Senators have committed to vote for the bill.

Talking points are included farther below. The web page for each Senator includes an email form. To access those pages, click on the Senator’s name below or on the following Senate web page: The Texas State Senate: Current Members of the Texas Senate

I have a Republican state senator but if mine was a Dem, I would certainly call and e-mail.

I have not heard a word about this in the local media and I live in a sanctuary city, that is very very liberal.

I hope it passes. I would love to actually run a profitable business, once again. Instead of having to compete with labor, with me using Americans. It is hard to compete and make it doing what I do using legal help, so I work alone, doing a job that should take two and provide them a very livable income.

I didn't hear about it either and I have my permanent residency in Austin. I'll try to make sure people are aware of it. I bet, there must be at least one student organization at UT doing something about it.

Also check out Anderson Merchandisers of Amarillo, Denton, and Flower Mound Texas. This company is the sole supplier of music CD's and movie DVD's to all 3800 WalMart stores nationwide. Anderson hires illegals.

Anderson Merchandisers is wholly owned by Charles C. Anderson. Jr. of Knoxville, TN. He is on the Board of Trustees of the University of Tennessee and that is the governing Board. He is also a Director of the Country Music Association of Nashville.
