‘Practically zero’

Quote:
EL PASO, Texas - For all the tough talk out of Washington on immigration, illegal immigrants caught along the Mexican border have almost no reason to fear they will be prosecuted.

Ninety-eight percent of those arrested between Oct. 1, 2000, and Sept. 30, 2005, were never prosecuted for illegally entering the country, according to an Associated Press analysis of federal data. Those 5.2 million immigrants were simply escorted back across the Rio Grande and turned loose. Many presumably tried to slip into the U.S. again.

The number of immigrants prosecuted annually tripled during that five-year period, to 30,848 in fiscal year 2005, the most recent figures available. But that still represented less than 3 percent of the 1.17 million people arrested that year. The prosecution rate was just under 1 percent in 2001.

It's a variant of the Iron Triangle. As long as politicians are funded by companies that hire illegals, almost nothing will be done.

The Minutemen have probably had more ill run-ins with law enforcement than illegal aliens.

Prosecuted! What are you kidding? The only people getting prosecuted and sentenced to prison terms are our own US citizens...doing their jobs: Border Patrol Agents!
Remember Agents Ramos and Campeon? Now serving lengthy jail sentences for apprehending drug smuggling alien invaders?

I urge each and every one of you to sign this petition and stop this injustice!

Bush should be impeached for this atrocity alone....although there are too many others this is just icing on the cake! Yes, he just pardoned a group of 13 or 14 criminals, including drug dedalers, but didn't blink twice at our border patrol guys. Talk about corrupt. And it's still happenning! To more of our law enforcement officers!
I am so sick of Americans having this corrupt government shoved down our throats...c'mon people...stand up and fight back, now!

According to Fox and CNN today 98% of illegals are not prosecuted for crossing the border. How some people can stand behind our corrupt gov't is beyond me.Our elected officials from the city level on up that are in favor of illegals being here should be deported first, then go for the illegals and deport them.

Yes,and what is more disgusting is that this actually took place last fall! But in the general media, it was never brought up. Thanks to grassfire and other grass roots organizations, we are kept current of such issues.
Even if you don't agree with every issue on their website, they are doing a good job of keeping up w/fighting the "Invasion".

Again, I urge everyone to go to the site.....

We should treat our southern border like it's Iraq. A mine field might work. 250,000 troops would certainly help. Anyone who crosses the border without going through the proper checkpoints should be treated as though they are a terrorist with a nuclear weapon. They should be shot on sight. If they have children, send the orphans back to Mexico City.

Well, thank god our wonderful senator McCain has helped with this. Oh, what did you say? He's the kind of guy that doesn't bring home the bacon for the state? Oh, you mean pork!

For the last 2 years during his wonderful Presidential campaign...again. I have lost count on how many time I have heard him say....I don't bring pork back to my state!

OK, fine! But why do we have Senators? Ah, the good old "Taxation without Representation". Years gone by, we got all of these guys to represent our state in DC.

But for some reason, we got this one guy, who people keep electing because he was a war hero. OK, fine! Guess what, surviving Hanoi Hilton doesn't make you a war hero. Talk to the countless number of Congressional Metal of Honor recipients, they will tell you what a hero is.

You want to reduce the Illegal Immigration problems. Elect someone in office here in the state who will grab the bull by the horn and say...enough is enough and get the job done.

Oh, but there's the good old profiling that every tree hugger talks about. Oh, we shouldn't do this or we should do that. It might make someone mad at us.

Well, I'm Hispanic and I'm tired of all the bull s***! It's time for a new Senator!
