What? I thought they were all working in the fields doing those jobs Americans won’t do. They look so sad.

Quote:
In South Carolina, Lopez was a machine operator on a construction crew, making between $750 and $1,400 a week. He had saved enough to send for his wife and son.

Over time, Lopez bought three used vehicles. He and his wife fixed up a mobile home. He saved $12,000 for a down payment. They decorated it with bamboo plants and landscape photos and filled it with toys for their 4-year-old son, Albert.

When Lopez lost his job last year, he sold his vehicles and paid $500 for a ride to Plant City, where he'd heard there was work in the fields. Those first difficult weeks, they lived off savings, paying $50 a week for a room in a trailer they share with another family. They missed their large network of friends in South Carolina.

Eventually, Lopez relearned the knack of cupping the strawberry, breaking it at the stem without bruising the fruit. Soon he was making $600 a week. His wife earned $400.

$750 to 1,400 a WEEK??? likely TAX FREE!! Now, how is that a job that "Americans Won't do?".. I Know many people who would gladly have a job let alone a job that pays decently for a single person or a couple with no kids...

It's good to see them returning to the fields, listening to Sen. Feinstein talk about how the Fruits and Vegetables will go unpicked and her doomsday scenerio about the poor farmers going out of business was getting a bit redundant..

SEN FEINSTEIN = PROBLEM SOLVED!

$600 a week would look very good to an unemployed American-----------even if it is hard work.

Around $70,000 a year (based on the $1,400/week number) for a criminal alien. Pathetic and pure insanity.

Even the $600/week figure is ridiculously high when many hardworking, legitimate AMERICANS can't get there.

I make a lot less than that now and I am in a skilled trade. I grew up on a farm and we never paid our employees that well. We could not afford to. 400 per week was the max, and still is to most farmers I know.

why do you think the food is so costly? try 600 a week under the table while we breed as fast as we can to collect the paycheck , see how that
works for the taxpayer. ****z I'll pick for 600 a week under the table plus welfare! Plus i promise to not pee on the crops!

Incredible, isn’t it? I simply cannot fathom how anyone can justify continuing illegal immigration while we have millions of unemployed U.S. citizens. This guy makes a hell of a lot more than lots of citizens in this country.
