Oh, and the U.S. must repeat the 1986 legalization program for the millions of currently illegal aliens who didn’t wait for the officially borderless continent, insists the man who was president as millions of his countrymen fled the corruption and grinding poverty of Mexico for “El Norte.”

More than 10 percent of Mexican- born people now live in the USA.

A little background:

As he has countless times, in a 2000 interview on ABC’s “This Week,” then Mexican President-elect Vicente Fox hopefully predicted that by 2010 people would move freely across the border between Mexico and the United States.

El Presidente’s cure for illegal immigration from Mexico? Eliminate our immigration laws.

End that old-fashioned American sovereignty and eventually “integrate” the nations of the Americas. Defined: Defended borders are selfish and Americans live far too well.

*************

Fox is “El Presidente” no more and George W. Bush failed in his repeated attempts to legalize the illegal aliens who escaped American Border Patrol Agents.

The open borders amnesty agenda however, lives on. Under enormous pressure from Mexico and a coalition of big business and the radical ethnic lobby — and against huge resistance from the American people — President Obama is reportedly ready to push his own legalization legislation soon.

D.A. King of Marietta is president of the Georgia-based Dustin Inman Society, which is opposed to open borders. On the Web: www.TheDustinInmanSociety.org

Open borders and amnesty - again: A solution to illegal immigration? - Opinion - Macon (http://www.macon.com/opinion/story/724861.html - broken link)

Wake up America. More now than ever we must remain alert and vigilante to protect our country.

Even though Mr. Open Borders And Mass Amnesty will likely push for a shamnesty bill sometime in 2009 he'll be facing enormous odds considering the that the economic recession hasn't ended, the dollar has plummeted, and unemployment is expected to reach 10% according to some financial analysts.

The previous shamnesty bills in the last few years were defeated despite a good economy and a large backing from both Republican senators and Bush.

The Great Depression of the 1930s hit Mexican immigrants especially hard. Along with the job crisis and food shortages that affected all U.S. workers, Mexicans and Mexican Americans had to face an additional threat: deportation. As unemployment swept the U.S., hostility to immigrant workers grew, and the government began a program of repatriating immigrants to Mexico. Immigrants were offered free train rides to Mexico, and some went voluntarily, but many were either tricked or coerced into repatriation, and some U.S. citizens were deported simply on suspicion of being Mexican. All in all, hundreds of thousands of Mexican immigrants, especially farmworkers, were sent out of the country during the 1930s--many of them the same workers who had been eagerly recruited a decade before.

Agreed, who cares if they are Mexican. Makes you wonder if they really mean "people of color."

It is funny how people against "illegal immigration" want to deport all the Mexican immigrants but, let's be real; you can deport all the illegals you want, they will keep coming across Americas borders until we actually do something about our borders. Like trying to take water out of a sinking boat. Water will keep coming in unless you fix the hole!

Fortify our southern border and issue 'shoot to kill' orders to our border patrol----------problem solved.

As for your race insinuation: Mexico treats illegal aliens from Guatemala like crap so do us all a favor and put your (expired) 'race card' away.

What about our Northern Border, or is that ok since Canadians are white? What about our east and western borders? What about the fact many people come legaly but stay illegaly? Why is it "Shoot the Mexicans"?

Why do you want to shoot the people crossing the border? Should we also shoot the babies?

The vast majority of illegal aliens enter via our southern border; common sense dictates that one dams the raging river vs. a small creek if dealing with impending flooding.

Let's not forget the terrorists on 9/11 crossed the Canadian border, not the Mexican border.

If the creek is more of a threat than the river, let's dam the creek first.

But you still never answered the questions. Would you also shoot the babies? Why shoot only Mexicans? Etc...
