Yes, this was a tragedy, just like the illegal who raped and murdered a three year old was a tragedy.
The uncomfortable truth is that there are horrible people of all ethnicities and horrible people do horrible things for horrible reasons. These horrible peoples crime cannot be laid at the feet of anti illegal organizations anymore then the illegals crime can be laid at the feet of all immigrants. It is sadly what it is.
The only difference that can be said about the two crimes is that in the first we have American horrible people and unfortunately we can't do too much about them until after the fact. (and I for one hope they never see the light of day for what they did)
On the other hand, had the US maintained a strong border, a three year old girl would be alive today. In short, it is clear we have more then enough horrible people with whom we have to deal with in the US -- no need to import more.

Anti-illegal alien sentiment IS NOT equivalent to anti-Hispanic/anti-Mexican/xenophobic sentiment.
As for the victim, I feel sad for him and hope that the authorities but an end to any anti-Hispanic violence and discrimination.
I do not, nor do the majority of anti-illegals, condone violence against Hispanics or illegals so don't even think about trying to play the race card when illegal immigration is solely a political and NOT an ethnic/racial issue that many of you pro-illegals tend to make it out to be.

I am by no means condoning this. However, each time a story is posted involving a U.S. citizen being raped or murdered by an illegal alien, we are summarily attacked as being racists and anti-Hispanic. In addition, we are reminded that not all illegals are violent criminals. Well, the same applies to U.S. citizens. We are not all the same.
This is a tragedy, and it should never have happened. Sadly, this may only be the beginning.
