Life is short, all the more reason to make sure we hand down a respectable US to our children. What we won't be doing is handing over a Third World Country with no rule.

I couldn't agree more. Illegal aliens really need to accept the reality that their days of sucking the teet of America are numbered and the numbers are few.

Oh no. We're going to be known as 14th amendment reinterpretation peddlers.

now if this could have been on the books for the past 20 years! especially since half of hispanic births are to illegals. also, i wish we could take away the citizenship of kids born to illegals since 2000.

It is a simple matter of right and wrong. It has NOTHING to do with being hateful.

Rather than change the Constitution, why not have laws with mandatory minimum prison sentences for those who hire illegals? There's nothing unconstitutional about that, and jobs are a bigger attraction to illegals than "anchor babies"

If fewer businesses hired illegals - if CEOs and other executives knew they'd have to face Bubba (and I'm not referring to Bill Clinton) in a cell for hiring illegals - than there'd be fewer illegals.

Sadly, i agree that this is its likely fate. This bill makes WWWAAAYYYY too much sense and Washington hates that.

I think this should be more of a revision of the 14th amendment and not a whole new amendment. Anchor babies were never the intent of the 14th amendment.

No matter what happens to scumbag employers of illegals, the worse the better, the 14th amendment must start being correctly interpreted, as it was meant to be, because there are millions of criminal illegals who have crossed our porous border and support themselves by criminal means, not from being hired by a scumbag employer of illegals. The thought of anchor babies born to criminal illegals is totally repugnant.
