TheHill.com - Reid vows immigration reform by end of year

Quote:
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) told reporters Thursday that he would like the Senate to pass comprehensive immigration reform this year, adding another huge project to Democrats' already packed schedule for 2009.
Quote:
Reid also said that immigration reform needs to create a pathway to citizenship for the estimated 11 million undocumented workers in the United States.

Good luck with that Reid.. With Millions of Americans unemployed, I'm going to guess that Sen. Reid will join their ranks in November 2010..

Reid met with LA RAZA and The Mexican American Defense league? Oh yes.. There's some "unbiased" sources to give a well rounded view of the illegal immigration issue and it's impact upon American citizens..

Obama is a very popular president and can really push this through if he wanted to. We will just have to wait and see how he handles this situation.

I doubt Reid will lose his seat in 2010, he doesn't have any credible republican challenger to take him on.

It would be political suicide for him to do so. The GOP would be back in control of Congress in 2010 and the executive branch in 2012.
