Immigration Agency Unable to Measure Undocumented Workers in Gulf States | ENR: Engineering News Record | McGraw-Hill Construction

Quote:
It may seem as though the number of immigrants on the Gulf Coast has grown since Hurricane Katrina created a need for workers, but there is no hard evidence to determine the population of immigrants, documented or undocumented, says Temple Black, spokesman for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

“If we knew where the illegals were, we would go out and detain them,” Black says. Not only is ICE unable to document the number of immigrants in the states covered by the New Orleans office – Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Arkansas and Tennessee – the agency has no way of determining how many of those immigrants are employed in construction, Black says.

Of course the number has grown since Katrina, as the workers that they hired have likely had hundreds of children AND have brought over their cousins, uncles, etc..

Funny how ICE did not raise an eyebrow when Illegals were hired during the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, in place of U.S. citizens that LOST EVERYTHING to "reconstruct" New Orleans, now suddenly there is NO way to know how many are there?..

“If we knew where the illegals were, we would go out and detain them,”

And what would it take to deport them? This sounds like another "catch and release" statement to me.

And just why is it that there is not one agency or department,at both the state and federal levels can give any kind of an answer to the question "How Many" ?

I'd love to hear their reasoning on this one...

We send thousands of trucks South each day we should be able to work a deal to send Illegals back cheaply.

This must be what they mean by “living in the shadows.” How do the illegals even know where they are?

I doubt they care so long as there is a Mexican consulate, a WIC office and someone who knows how to "hook them up" with Social Services close by.

There are now Illegals in the Northern part of Alaska.

And they send thousands of Ford F-150 pickups, loaded with drugs and illegals North, not to mention about 50 Big Rigs that wouldn't pass inspection in any country.

Next time you are in New Orleans, look around. Not many black people there. You can thank that skum sucking GWB for that.
