Default Early release for "immigrant" inmates raises questions

Early release for immigrant inmates raises questions - Sacramento Politics - California Politics | Sacramento Bee (http://www.sacbee.com/capitolandcalifornia/story/1927163.html - broken link)
Quote:
Juan Pedro Panuco said he and other immigrant inmates at Folsom State Prison have heard that California is so cash-strapped, some of them could get sprung early and then deported.

"Some of them are excited," said Panuco. He's not.

At 36, he's been in California since he was 18, is married to a legal U.S. resident and has three small children. He is nine months into a 13-month sentence he got for selling drugs.

Panuco may not want it, but the Mexican inmate is likely a prime candidate for early release under a cost-cutting plan on the table now from Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, facing a $24.3 billion budget deficit.

This is a feel good 'immigrant' story?!
He is 36 and a drug dealer....clearly he was not here to 'work' at jobs Americans will not do. He needs to be deported.

Unless the border is secured this guy, and any other future "deportee's will all be back,be it to work or sell drugs.

The raids on businesses suspected of employing illegals is non-existent.There is no indication that there will be anything done to curb the "estimated" $4-5 billion spent per year on "services" provided illegals, and "one-bill" Gil Cedillo's 951'st attempt to get drivers license's for illegals in in the assembly again.
As long as this mentality is rampant among our elected (the ones we keep returning to office) "representatives" .............well You can deport all of them you can find....And as they cross the border into mexico, they will turn and (with their best Guvernator impression, and say...

"I'll be back"

And they will...

19000 inmates might be released. they should hand over the illegal ones to the feds. let them process them. track them. warn them about illegal re entry.

this release might create a surge in recidivism rates for CA tho. the question then becomes how to keep those released on the outside of the [prison]wall. for illegals it takes on a different meaning. how do you keep them outside the walls, prison and border.

this will be interesting to watch.

I suppose we could actually build the wall.....Nice start. Then maybe we could actually begin to enforce the laws on the books. Maybe we could even deny all benefits to known illegals. Maybe even track them....Seems to me that if we can track down the source a cow with "Mad Cow Disease: to a ranch in Alberta, Canada, this should prove to be an achievable effort.

Bottom line...Felons or those who have spent time in prison should not be allowed to circumvent the legal system set into place by the Govmt. They should not get any Legal residency or green card over all those who have NOT broken any laws and are waiting for a LEGAL entry into the US.

Any person with any FELONY in their home country is disallowed any application for any type of residency in the US.

Immigration requires a police report from a persons home country. I know this as I had to follow the procedure before being allowed to live in the US with a Green Card.

It appears that there's some opposition to this:
