WASHINGTON - The lead Democrat steering an immigration overhaul through the Senate said Wednesday that he expects to have a bill ready by Labor Day that is more generous to highly skilled immigrant workers than those who are lower skilled.

He said the bill would be tough on future waves of illegal immigration.
Schumer: Migrant bill to be done by Labor Day

We will see; although in all fairness, higher skilled folks tend to be here legally as it is.

With the economy in the state it is in, along with the unemployment rate continuing to rise, Schumer couldn't have picked a better day to announce this version of amnesty.........Labor Day.
Just another slap in the face.

"He declared himself pro-immigration and said the U.S. should encourage legal immigration and find some kind of path for people now here to find a way to legal citizenship"

Same Stuff.......Different Day..

Of course, with the addition of Al (send in the clowns) Franken to the senate, the Amnesty crowd now have a filibuster proof majority in the senate.
Could be interesting...

They may be “done” with the bill by Labor Day, but they will not “touch it” for fear of losing votes in 2010.
