<<Hhmm...I wonder whether you'd support it if you were an undocumented and had a family to feed.....>>
Why is it ok for illegal aliens to take Amricans' jobs? Americans have families to feed also.

they are simply saying that there should be a humane solution to the problem of illegal immigration <<>>
Humane treatment does not include allowing illegal aliens to break the law.

We are fighting two major wars, this is the REAL tax burden. People borrowing mortgage loans that they have no way of paying back just so they can compete with the "Jones" then forcing the government to bail them out; this is the REAL tax burden....
Also, once legalized, illegals will enter the mainstream and also create businesses of their own which increase the overall tax revenue (and create more jobs). It is also the cheap labor, especially manual labor, that has caused this nation to be competitive over the rest of the industrialized nations.
There is a prevailing and very condescending thought that illegals are lesser than the rest of the population and cannot contribute (while it has been historically proven that immigrants throughout the years have been a strong driving force towards making this nation great) to economic growth, and that is what has driven the argument against legalization and amnesty.

You want to increase that number? That is what will happen now that your beloved illegals are made legal. Businesses aren't going to hire them once they can demand min wage.
It's impossible. Where are these "jobs" going to come from? There are very few jobs the way it is unless you count all of the under the counter paid spots filled by Illegals. Where are you getting this job base? It's not there.

2. Consuming (as a nation) more than we are producing, exporting or saving (again, NOT caused by illegals)
These, among others, are the real reasons for the current unemployment
With or without the presence of illegals, the economic downturn in the US is not and has never been because of the presence of illegals (on the contrary, it is the PRESENCE of jobs that attracts them!)
But people with a scanty knowledge of economics festering in a climate of hate and racism WILL always find someone to blame for the current unemployment....

It doesn't matter what caused the economic downturn. What matters is that millions of illegal aliens are employed in this country at a time when millions of Americans are unemployed. Do you really expect these unemployed Americans to be pleased with this situation?
As far as racism is concerned, what race is illegal alien? Are all illegal aliens of the same race? Millions of Americans of all races are opposed to illegal immigration. So who is racist against who? Are you calling the millions of Hispanic-Americans who are opposed to illegal immigration racists?

There are more Americans on welfare than illegal aliens? Hmm, I wonder if that has anything to do with the fact that there are about 20 times more Americans than there are illegal aliens in this country. Guess what? In Mexico, there are more Mexicans on welfare than Americans!

If illegal aliens are legalized, many employers will drop them from their payrolls and replace them with newly arriving illegal aliens. Why do you think employers hire illegal aliens in the first place? It isn't because employers can't find anyone else to do those jobs. It's because employers can't find anybody else to do those jobs at the wages they pay, with little or no benefits, with unsafe working conditions, with no recourse for illegal labor practices (no paid overtime, no set maximum number of hours worked per day or week, no breaks during workday, physical and sexual harassment and abuse, etc.).

You are morphing the line between legal and illegal immigration. Nice sleight of hand. Legal immigrants have indeed made many contributions to make this country great. But illegal aliens are not legal immigrants. Illegal aliens are lawbreakers who deserve nothing more than to be deported. Illegal aliens are correctly thought of as being lesser than the rest of the population because they're lawbreakers who are illegally in this country and who have no respect for our laws. There is nothing special about illegal alien workers. All illegal alien workers can be easily replaced with American workers, legal guest workers, and additional legal immigrant workers.
