Default NJ Democrats propose legislation to allow prosecution of illegal immigrant drivers

Quote:
Democratic State Assembly candidates Bill Brown and Debbie Sarcone today unveiled legislation that would increase the penalties faced by individuals who cause a motor vehicle accident when they are in the United States illegally – and to extend the penalties to punish those who allow illegal drivers to operate motor vehicles.

Brown and Sarcone, who are running for seats in the Eighth Legislative District, said the legislation is in response to the tragic motor vehicle accident this past April that took the life of a popular Evesham Township school teacher, and the subsequent inability of law enforcement officials to fully prosecute those charged for their actions.

How amazing. Democratic politicians in quite a liberal state are want to punish illegal aliens?

Perhaps the murders of those three university students at the hands of an illegal alien who was protected by Newark's sanctuary city policy has exposed the lunacy in some of those pro-illegal decisions?

It's a good sign whatever state it comes from. I believe New Jersey has had several Anti-Illegal immigration groups in operation for awhile now....

Maybe the scumbag politicians will begin to listen.....and realize that their game is over....

Tick, Tick, Tick......

It's about time.

Many of these people never rode in a car much less drove one until they arrived here. They can't read the signs, they won't buy insurance or enroll themselves in drivers ed. A large number of them were never given drivers licenses in their own country but demand they be handed one here or be given a pass when they choose to drive without one.

They think being here illegally entitles them to do everything they feel like doing, even breaking DPS laws and insurance requirement laws.

Idk if this will do much good for other states though. I see many of these illegals going to NY and eastern PA if NJ gets tough. I hope PA steps it up. While we don't have much of an immigrant problem esp out here in the west, they should act before a problem begins. Good job NJ! Maybe it's because some people are leaving the state for the South and this may slow the flow.

Don't do the happy dance yet, remember NJ's governor wanted to give illegals drivers licenses. The Assembly is small potatos compared to the Governer when it comes to how things are done.

I live in Newark, NJ and there are illegal aliens in this city. Other cities in NJ have significant populations of illegal immigrants: New Brunswick, Passaic, Paterson, Plainfield, & Lakewood to name a few. Some of these cities have seemed to benefit from these immigrants however. There was a neighborhood in New Brunswick that was drug infested, dangerous, and blighted with most of the businesses gone and the buildings boarded-up. In the mid 80's undocumented Mexicans began arriving and within 5 years turned the neighborhood around. A thriving business atmosphere has replaced a boarded-up main street. The drug dealers have left the neighborhood and a huge vacant lot was turned into a park; the clean-up was organized by a grass-roots immigrant group. The same thing has more recently occured in Plainfield's central business district. There was a two block stretch of downtown that looked like a war zone. Now, because of the efforts and work done by immigrants (a majority of whom are undocumented), the city government has invested money into a downtown beautification project. They have planted flowers and put in nice brick sidewalks that perfectly accentuate the newly succesful businesses. I cannot speak of the illegal immigration situation on the west coast or other areas, but in NJ this community of people has worked wonders in many forgotten and blighted neighborhoods.
