I would say that profiling is part of good police work.
Case in point strip searching little old ladies at airports is a complete waste of time.
Not searching ME men who fit the pattern simply to avoid being called a racist is crap police work.
For those who don't want to be lumped with scum? Stand up and start denouncing the scum. Do it as a collective community. Stop turning a blind eye just because they are of the same background and you feel some sort of misplaced loyalty to them.

I remember last year going to a supermarket located in the overwhelmingly Hispanic East Los Angeles, and being the only person in the entire store with blue eyes.

That scenario of being the only blue eyed person around would never happen at a supermarket located in a predominantly Anglo area.

Although; in all fairness, quite a few White Hispanics tend to play that down for many reasons.

You were probably ALSO the only person in that store who was able to determine eye-color from a great distance, clear across the store.

Either it was a store which was doing very poorly, and had only two or three customers....OR you must have been extraordinarily busy, checking out the eyes of everyone...(and in the process, probably missing a few good buys).

How about hair color? Can you give us a breakdown on that? Anyone wearing leather shoes, as opposed to man-made materials? Did most of these shoppers seem to favor healthy foods, junk foods, or non-food items?

Hey macmeal did anybody ever tell you that you do not get blue eyes when you mix Spanish and Aztec together. Last time I checked that is the ancestry of the overwhelming majority of people who call East Los Angeles home.

In Southern California if you want to be surrounded by a sea of blue eyes than you have to go to places like Huntington Beach, Mission Viejo, and Newport Beach for example where the majority of the population draw their ancestry back to countries like Germany, England, Ireland, etc.

I have seen quite a few blue eyed Hispanics here in Arizona who were quite possibly illegal aliens to boot. They typically had white skin but Indian facial features.

No...no one ever told me that. Furthermore, I'm well familiar with the (above) places you mention....and I know that the majority of their populations do NOT draw their ancestry from the nations you mention. Lastly, even IN the three nations you mention, I doubt that blue-eyed people form a majority.

But I promise to be on the lookout from now on...

My grandfather was a Spaniard with blue eyes, my grandmother was Colombian with brown skin but my aunt got blue eyes too. Yes, you can mix Hispanic with Spaniard and get blue eyes.
