They should take it a step further - require all employers to use it.

AF, I think You already confirmed my suspicion, I just need to know.

This bill:

1) requires businesses that contract with the feds to use E-verify (the feds themselves already do)

2) requires businesses that already voluntarily use E-verify to screen existing employees

It does not require any business that doesn't contract with the feds or that doesn't already use E-verify to do anything.

It's considered a "compromise" by Politifact, the site that tracks Obama's campaign promises:

PolitiFact | No. 287: Crack down on employers who hire undocumented immigrants

Am I the only person that considers a "compromise" by politicians as a combination of all of the worst components of a proposed law simply because they don't have the balls to fight for what they really believe in ?

Cowards.....

I'm not really sure just how many we can "grasp"

But,If we look at what these sons of ******* have been doing for the last 20 years, and the peoples response (minimal at best) I feel that the politicians feel as though they are immune to the will of the people.

for now at least..

I don't want to stray of subject here...

Strategy is a different subject....

Nah, I don't see it that way. Sometimes a compromise is the best you can get given the time and resources available. It's better than nothing. And it doesn't have to mean that the discussion is over either.
