Customs and Border Protection Officers said, just over the weekend, they stopped 58 people for various immigration violations.
Among them were three people who were arrested on alien smuggling charges.
There were also 21 alleged imposters who used legitimate immigration documents that belonged to someone else and two people with counterfeit entry documents.
these laws being broken are
felony offenses human smuggling, fake docs that is someone eleses... so 21 of them already had plans of breaking more laws than just entering the counrty!!!!!!!!!!!!
come on law makers stand up!

No kidding. People who are willing to violate one law are willing to violate far more. Yet another reason why it's so important to take illegal immigration seriously.

So by your argument, people who are willing to drive 5 miles over the speed limit are willing to do murder, rape, theft? Should we also take traffic violations more seriously?

Apples and oranges here.
Simply crossing the border, etc. illegally is not that serious if it is the first time caught, second and subsequent offences are indeed Felonies unto themselves. Then factoring in ID theft, false SSN's, not reporting income, etc. we are definitely in serious Felony territory that would land an American in the slammer.

What about the ones that have not been caught? ( That I think it's save to assume it's the majority). Also, I think there is a big difference between someone who uses a fake ID in order to work vs. someone who uses a fake ID in order to rack up loans or perform any other illegal activity. Same as someone not reporting income because they do not have a SSN vs. someone not reporting income because they feel it's better to have it on a offshore acount in a country with strong bank secrecy laws.
I think to make a statement as general as "People who are willing to violate one law are willing to violate far more." Fails to take into consideration, or at least acknowledge the motivation, and the perceived consequences behind the act. Why would you think someone who killed someone in a car accident due to speeding, DUI, negligence(likely to fall under manslaughter, a felony) is willing to commit premeditated murder (Murder 1st degree?).

Every job being taken illegally is a job not available for a legal immigrant. Which side are you on? Aren't you a legal immigrant? I think if India started to push it's IT populace here Illegally you might have a problem with it? I know I would.

Speeding is punishable by a fine of a few hundred dollars.
Illegal immigration, on the other hand, is punishable by forced removal from the country on the first offense and is a felony for any subsequent offense.
Big difference.
