Estela Fuentes, a counselor at the Hispanic Family Center of Southern New Jersey, said the economic downturn has made it practically impossible for undocumented workers to function. Without papers, they don't qualify for unemployment benefits and there's not much that job counselors can do to help them either, Fuentes said.

Undocumented workers already face discrimination and fear of deportation on a daily basis, Walters said, so it's not surprising that the added hurdle would drive some to head home.

Bye bye you criminal scumbags.

If any of you illegals wish to return here's a good way of doing it: LEGALLY!

yay!! good bye! I really think some of these people may never come back though because we will not have the level of construction or development in the USA that was common in the early 2000s until about 2015 IMO and even then I think development will be smarter and there won't be scores of McMansions built on farm land.

Whether they are criminals or just honest hard working illegals trying to make a living or send money back or whatever...EITHER WAY YOU DO NOT BELONG HERE. BECAUSE OF YOU SCUMBAGS WE WASTE MONEY PRINTING OUT INSTRUCTIONS ON EVERYTHING IN SPANISH AND CATER WAY TOO MUCH TO YOUR NEEDS. GTFO!!!

It kills me so much when things are done in spanish. Seriously you live in America, you learn the English language. My grandparents back in the day entered Ellis Island from China and didn't speak a word of english and knew immediately they'd have to learn in order to survive and make it here. Illegals here just don't care and we make it WAY too easy for them to FIT in here in America.

Well the sad truth is that the USA consumer economy cannot support all of the USA, China, Mexico and the rest.

At some point it's really better for there to be other countries with their own economies.

How about...."Criminal border trespassers forced to go back home after opportunities in America fade"

This is so silly.

"Estela Fuentes, a counselor at the Hispanic Family Center of Southern New Jersey, said the economic downturn has made it practically impossible for undocumented workers to function. Without papers, they don't qualify for unemployment benefits and there's not much that job counselors can do to help them either, Fuentes said."

Of course job counselors can't do anything. Why should they be expected to?

All these anecdotes are thrown in to subtly make you feel guilty. "The family that left impoverished Guatemala hoping to find decent paying jobs in America".

There are impoverished people everywhere! Why should we pay for it? Why should our wages go down as a result?

"Undocumented workers already face discrimination and fear of deportation on a daily basis, Walters said, so it's not surprising that the added hurdle would drive some to head home."

LOL. Of course they'd feel discriminated against. Lucky they didn't trespass into North Korea, they'd be in a forced labor camp.

"Reyes said she'd stay if she could. In spite of the economy, there's still more opportunities to work and save money here, she said. When she gets back to Guatemala, she said she'll try to cobble together a shop to sell beans, rice, sugar and other necessities. It will take a lot more effort and sacrifice to be able to have small luxuries like television, she said.

But, she said, she won't miss living in the shadows in the middle of such a dangerous city. Her husband and son-in-law were both robbed and beaten.
"We couldn't do anything here," Reyes said. "We couldn't drive, we stayed in without work."

"The kids go to school and then they come back and that's it," added her daughter, Azucena Reyes, 26. "They're always bored, sad, mad."

-The sympathy is just nauseating. Woe is me! Criminals need small luxuries like television. She won't miss living in a dangerous city. Couldn't drive. Couldn't go to work. The kids were bored and sad in school.

Oh the tragedies! Of living in the shadows in America.

Like all criminals illegals get depressed when they are unable to practice their trade. WE have feelings too, and need to support our families. Oh we forced legals out of work? Oh well sheet happens sometimes.
The apologists and the inablers would have us believe that we owe them the opprotunity to legalize their status. They would have us believe that some how it is our fault in the first place that illegals are here.
Well here is what I think.
Illegals like all other criminals make a choice. The choice to take their chances and ignore our laws. With this the mentality that they deserve what is theirs to take... Take our jobs, our Identities, our opprotunities.
This is the illegal in a nut shell. No matter how anyone would spin it this is the illegal.
We are rich and they are poor we owe them.... This is the illegal mentality.

Obama even admitted in an interview with C-Span a few weeks ago that the US was out of money: PoliGazette » Obama: We’re Out of Money, So Reform Health Care (http://www.poligazette.com/2009/05/24/obama-were-out-of-money-so-reform-health-care/ - broken link)

I suppose that because we're broke and the economy is in a turmoil we'll certainly need to fix our immigration system and grant a mass amnesty soon, right?
