Quote:
LA JOYA U.S. Border Patrol agents rescued a man in distress in the Rio Grande.

Boat Patrol agents encountered one man who appeared to be fatigued as he tried to swim to the U.S. side of the Rio Grande near La Joya on Saturday, an agency statement reads.

Agents tossed the man a life preserver and were able to pull him aboard their boat.

The man, an adult Mexican national, declined medical treatment and appeared to be in good health. He awaits immigration procedures, officials said.
