No way. The person I would vote for, should he run, is Republican Tom Campbell. He is honest, and has already signed on to the "anchor baby" legislation, among other things. And I'm a Democrat (in name only) who subscribes to a fiscally responsible conservatism.
Are you a Reagan Democrat ?

I wasn't even aware of his stance on immigration issues. In my case it is because he advocates responsible fiscal conservatism combined with opposition to the War on Drugs, support for abortion rights, and a pro-gay stance.

My dislike of Newsom has to do with having to live under his rule and seeing for myself how he's screwed up a great city, combined with CA's current crisis meaning that glamour boy politicians who should've gone into acting should not be in charge when the state is facing one of the worst periods in its history. CA needs a responsible adult in charge not a pretty boy. Campbell is a responsible adult and so is Brown. Newsom and Whitman are not.

Besides, a Constitution Party candidate has about as much chance of winning anything as a Socialist Workers Party candidate, and their ideology is just as repulsive as the SWP or Workers World imo. Greens and Libertarians are one thing, the Constitution Party, SWP, Socialist Party USA (which is a Marxist-Leninist group unrelated to the old Socialist Party), etc. are sheer nutjobs with no chance in hell of winning anything other than perhaps dogcatcher (and that's stretching it)
Very well said! I work in SF so am aware of how much Newsom has gouged everyone -- employers AND employees. If Newsom wins (which I doubt very much he will), I will move out of California. What he's done to SF is disgusting.

I've always been a fan of Jerry Brown's -- first met him when he was CA Secretary of State before his governorship. Honest best describes him (plus he's down-to-earth with a wry sense of humor).

Arnold has proven that California needs a politician, not a "business" man (or woman, in Meg's case). Never thought I'd be writing that, but with the mess we're in (compounded by the entire country's brink of disaster), we need help desperately.

Thanks for the insight into Tom Campbell. I've heard him interviewed a number of times, plus I was very impressed that he is against anchor babies. That alone makes him stand out! (I'll find the link and post it.)

ABSOLUTELY NOT! I never cared for Reagan. People seem to forget about the illegal amnesty on his watch, as well as the biggest deficit in the history of the country, second only to George W. Bush! No, sirree, Mr. Reagan has practically been deified since his death and evidently has become the role model for many Republican politicians.

Nightingale is a megalomaniac,

I spent a few years around her, and the last two working within her inner circle at Save Our State. She is interested in publicity and attention. She has zero qualifications for the office. While Save Our State was under her control, we lost the majority of our activists, and most of our members, and the organization pretty much ended up rowing in a circle around her ego. Her signature line should be of interest

"God Forgive America"

A dollar given to support her campaign is probably better spent on drugs.

I must agree with Ayatollah Gondola on this one.....
Ms. Nightengale seems to have a serious ego problem. I am not a member of SOS, but I have followed them for several years to gather info on their protests and events. It seems that over the past year and a half, Nightengale has done more to destroy the anti-illegal immigration movement than augment it.......

Banning activists ( Those who are willing to be involved in events) and those who disagree with her seems to be her "Method Du Jour"......

SOS used to be an " active" organization, putting people in the streets, and not backing down.

Lots of good people (and I suppose, lots of losers)

Now they seem to be content with playing video games on their website.

Sorry for the rant

How was Obama qualified to be president? My point being we have a lot of so called qualified reps in office today and they tanked our economy.

For every dollar his contributors spent on Obama's campaign, probably ten more was spent on drugs.
I've been saying for years that the voters in California would elect Elvis for Governor, and he's been dead for years. But Chelene is no Elvis. She wants the stardom, but lacks the talent and qualifications

Default Chelene Nightingale

In response to the poster(s) who have so much to say about a candidate who know nothing of her stance on anything.
I actually went to the www.nightingaleforgovernor.com website and saw wher she stands on many of the issues. In fact she is the only candidate talking about real solutions to problems like illegal immigration. Meg Whitman believes in AMNESTY. See this article to see where Meg Really stands on the issue

She has aslo donated to John Kerry, Barbara Boxer, Mary Cantwell and a whole host of Democrats and now she is running as a Republican? It just looks like more of the same. Millionaires who just want to play Governor. How has that been working for California?
See for yourself on the FEC website

Chelene Nightingale is not afraid to addrees the issues that really hurt California. Have any of the other candidates addressed our Tenth Amendment rights with respects to the Central Valley water issue? NO. In fact they would rather let California continue to lose its agriculture sector to federal pressure.
Truth is, the posters above are proabaly paid to go out and slander comptetition they are afraid of.

As I have just displayed above, contrary to the above posters, I tend to back up what I say with facts before I go throwing up all over the internet with petty lies to try and smear a campaign. That only means one thing, these guys, or the guys who are paying them, are afraid of a liberty minded candidate like Chelene Nightingale. They are afraid that they will have to compete with another Doug Hoffman. (an Conservative independent running in NY)
People are smarter than this. They will go out and read up on these postings and find that many of them are just hits on a persons character. Whats next, they hate Chelene because she is a women? running for office? All I have seen is that they hate this person because she believes in God. I mean really?

Most of these political candidates will say anything just to get elected. Then after they are in, it is politics as usual. But not Chelene Nightingale. Chelene has proven herself to be a candidate for the people. She has spent years fighting the very same issues we are concerned about. High crime rates, overpopulation, traffic gridlock, lost jobs and businesses moving out of the area. She has even lobbied in DC. Have you seen or heard of any of these other candidates doing this? They may have more experience, but what has that done for us? We are still facing the same problems we have been struggling with years ago. So don't forget, someone fresh and new with the determination and enegery she has could just be the one to turn California around for the better.

What is with the unsubstantiated ad hominem attacks?
