Mexico is dealing with the biggest depression they've experienced since the thirties and many squeal that the US is to blame

Possibly being so dependant on the US might be part of the problem?

Will Mexico ever stand on it's own? Or will they always be dependant on the US? We already have 1/6 of their population here.

1. A person can be illegally in a country that they are not a citizen of. Nice, try but no cigar.

2. No, this is the USA (a country) the Americas are continents. No, we are no longer a nation of immigrants, we are a nation of citizens by several generations while still taking in immigrants. Time to shed that stupid label and be ourselves now.

3. And your point is? Each crime has its own penalty. In the case of illegal immigration the penalty is deportation.

4. Yes the U.S. has always welcomed LEGAL immigrants.

5. Our country is already built but if we need help with certain jobs, there is a legal way to come here. Some illegals do come here for the freebies but not all.

6. Yeah, and some Irish are nicer than Americans also. Your point is? We shoud allow the whole world in as long as they are "nice"?

7. No, the crooked employers are functioning better in their pocketbooks while we pick up the tab for the illegals social costs. If we need foreign labor they should come legally and be paid at a fair wage not slave labor wages while avoiding paying taxes in this country.

8. Oh, my God! We wouldn't want to insult law breakers! Maybe we shoudn't built jails and prisons because it is an insult to our citizen law breakers? LOL! Fences are a deterrant. That is why we have fences around our own properties. How old are you anyway? 5?

9. Just when I didn't think you could top your own idiocies. Yes, we do have our own culture. It is a blend of cultures and mostly based on white European culture. Our national langauage is English. We belong to the whole world? Someone put this person in a padded cell, please. No one stole any land from the indians. Wars have been fought and lands have exchanged hands throuout history all over the planet. As for the southwest the U.S. paid Mexico millions of dollars for it.

10. No one has the right to work here illegally! It is against the law. What you are claiming is that illegals have every bit the same rights as an American in every way including taking jobs no matter how menial they are. No, they don't!

I don't think so.....they come here because the quality of life here is better than where ever they came from but, for many it's to improve the quality of life for their family still back in Mexico. The largest source of revenue for Mexico is money earned in the U.S. and sent back to Mexico......it has now even surpassed their oil revenue which had been their largest source. How do you figure that builds our economy?

(8) If we built a fence on the border, it would be an insult to illegals..it would give the impression that we don't "trust" our neighbors....and besides that, fences don't stop people, anyway...

Do any of your neighbors have fences? Are you insulted because of them? Does it give you the impression your neighbors don't trust you? Do you climb over their fences to get in their yards?

The fence thats suppose to be put up at the border consists of not one but, three solid metal fences with a section at the top that's on an angle (to make it very difficult to scale without a ladder). We're not talking about a chain link fence here.....it will take a considerable amount of time to get through three fences like that....during which time you'll most likely be detected.....there are cameras every where now, I know they plan on putting a lot on the border.

(9) America is not "like" other countries...it has no culture, no traditions, and no official language, and basically, it really 'belongs to the whole world'...even though it was 'stolen' from the Indians....
It doesn't belong to the whole world just because people from all over the world live here. They live here now as U.S. citizens (at least they're suppose to be) and are no longer citizens of the country they immigrated here from. The land that's not owned by the government or an Indian tribe (yes, that's right....they still have some land and they also still receive monthly compensation from the government that's distributed among each tribe's members), is owned by whom ever holds the title to it (which may not necessarily be a U.S. citizen).

Just remember - all hispanics are not illegals. Go to New Mexico where they don't give a crap about immigration, because they were here before the US was the US.

Or how about my friend from Mexico who got his MBA in the states and it took him 7 years to get his green card. He worked hard and paid taxes. He was not illegal.

Through my work, I got stuck in another country with an expired Visa. I had to hang out at immigration with all the other illegals.

No actually the Constitution says that. If you want to change the constitution then say so but don't deny what is in clear print. Now more importantly does your Congressman know you feel this way?

Um, no . . . I don't know of any tribal member that get a government handout as you described. Money is used for their school system and infrastructure.

Most pueblos/tribes do earn money from casinos (which is another topic for debate). These moneys are usually distributed to the members based on voluntary contribution of time to better their community.

And in Alaska, both natives and anglos get oil dividends.

Yes...good advice. In my defense, I DID say I was 'inclined to agree' with the OP, but that he 'may have missed a few points in the controversy' (which I then went on to list)...I never said they were MY points...just that they were points.

Sarcasm doesn't translate well, and this one apparently missed the mark. Glad you got it...
