Excellent point----------especially that those parts of E Europe in the EU can legally send their excess working age people to France, Italy, Spain, Ireland, etc. No visa required.

Agreed.

Many Eastern and Central Europeans can already be found in wealthier European countries such as the UK, Ireland, Germany, and Spain.

If Italy needs menial and cheap labor they can just look for it in Eastern and Central Europe, not from illegal immigration.
