What a frugal and punitive idea. I like it.

There are plenty of legal residents and American citizens that are being put in the tent city jail as well.

So, both legals and illegals are subjected to the same punitive policy. That seems reasonable.

It would be reasonable if he didn't treat them like animals.

They're all criminals who've just placed in a different punitive and frugal environment. I don't see anything wrong with it and apparently, the AZ state and US government don't care too much to stop him from continuing that policy.

In addition, the prisoners likely have more space to move around as opposed to being in a prison cell.

Sheriff Arpaio is doing the job the voters (overwhelmingly) hired him to do - enforce the law.

The fact you are evidently opposed to him enforcing the law is telling.

BTW, other Sheriffs around the Nation are following Sheriff Arpaio's lead with the Tent Jails, Chain Gangs, Deputies becoming sworn Federal officers etc.

Yep - and they are individuals who were arrested by various law enforcement agencies for crimes. Others were arrested, again by various law enforcement agencies (including MCSO) for outstanding warrants for their arrest.

Sorry to disappoint you but, the Sheriff is DOING HIS JOB.

He does not treat them like "animals". Your statement otherwise is nothing more than blustering and hyperbole.

For those of you that don't know (Greatday, Antireconquista) cruel and unusual punishment is unconstitutional. Arpaio puts inmates in chain gangs and parades them around downtown, puts them in tent cities that have conditions so bad that people have died, andfeeds them spoiled food. I don't even do this to my dog. He also does racial profiling which has got him under a justice department investigation. He stops hispanic people (I want to emphasize HISPANIC PEOPLE, not illegal immigrants) at rates of over 100 to 4 for traffic violations. I know that Phoenix has alot of hispanics, but it doesn't have that many.

Arpaio has 40,000 outstanding felony warrants, he has 11 minute responce time and the arrest rate for crimes is around 3%. Instead of pretending he's an ICE agent, this guy should do his job. If he wants to deport illegal immigrants that badly he should quit his job and go work for ICE.
