A program that allows for greater cooperation between local law enforcement officers and federal immigration authorities is almost ready for action in Carrollton.
The program is named after a section of immigration law, 287(g). It establishes agreements and training in selected areas of immigration enforcement. Carrollton's program focuses on jails and is aimed at moving criminal illegal immigrants out of the country.

Good. I hope that the 287(g) will expand to the rest of South Carolina.
I love 287. It finally gets the police involved. Some say Illegals won't report crime happening to them if they don't trust the Police. Well, I'm ok with that. Whatever gives them motivation to go home.

Carrolton, is a suburb of Dallas, Tx.
Remember Flower Mound Tx.? These are the same stomping grounds, basically.
the fact that at one time most cities put the brakes on the police checking immigration status is at best strange. the authorities ordering law enforcement to stand down on law enforcement---- smells of 3rd reich. i think the american people have been sold out by their government to business interests who have recruited 21 million mexican people to come here and work illegally.
our government does not know how they got here or where they work.
all this i understand being a businessman, its all about business, but what i dont grasp is why american labor is anti labor.
they hate unions.
write your congressman, talk to your boss ----yeah for sure.
The change I want to see, is what was promised to the US taxpayers back in 1986, and the first sham-nasty they crammed down our throats, when the majority of US citizens were against it.
The Immigration Reform and Control Act (IRCA), also Simpson-Mazzoli Act (Pub.L. 99-603, 100 Stat. 3359, signed by PresidentRonald Reagan on November 6, 1986) is an Act of Congress which reformed United States immigration law. The Act made it illegal to knowingly hire or recruit illegal immigrants (immigrants who do not possess lawful work authorization), required employers to attest to their employees' immigration status, and granted amnesty to certain illegal immigrants who entered the United States before January 1, 1982 and had resided there continuously. The Act also granted a path towards legalization to certain agricultural seasonal workers and immigrants who had been continuously and illegally present in the United States since January 1, 1982.
