EL PASO, Texas (AP) - Anyone arrested in El Paso County will now have their identities checked with federal immigration databases to determine their immigration statuses.
El Paso County to check inmate immigration status - KSWO, Lawton, OK- Wichita Falls, TX: News, Weather, Sports. ABC, 24/7, Telemundo -

Thank goodness. I hope that all border counties will have this policy implemented first and ASAP.

This could be a "win-win" for everyone. El Paso County could deport any illegal Mexican for the price of a city bus 'one zone' fare....or could just ask them to WALK home. Pretty good deal for the taxpayers.

Good deal for the illegals, too. You could be deported at 10 AM, and be back by noon..probably just in time for lunch.

Other places don't have the advantages of El Paso County....but it's an interesting article.

El Paso also has a bit of a problem. Many of the drug cartel families are moving over here -- legally -- because they have the big bucks, but they are moving over believing they should be guaranteed safety.

An open border kind of affects the safety of the very rich and usually drug trafficking connected types.

I believe that something may finally get done about the open border now that it's rich Mexicans that fear it. The Mexican cartel has infiltrated the USA Army apparently:

Man's slaying was 'payback' for cartel leader's arrest, police say - El Paso Times (http://www.elpasotimes.com/newupdated/ci_13041905 - broken link)

Update: Fourth person arrested in killing of Juárez drug cartel member in El Paso - El Paso Times

It's the timing that makes one suspicious. El Paso leaders have been nothing but open borders. They made El Paso one of the biggest sanctuary cities where illegals could do as they please. Suddenly a big drug lord gets killed and there is suddenly some kind of effort to get control over a very open border?

Nevermind Americans but now that Mexican drug cartel members no longer feel safe in El Paso, and even Mexican cartel members of the USA military are killing drug lords, maybe something will finally be done about that wide open border:

Update: One of three arrested in killing of informant was also an informant; U.S. Army soldier facing murder charges - El Paso Times

A U.S. Army soldier is one of three men facing murder charges in the killing of cartel member Jose Daniel Gonzalez Galeana. The victim died in a hail of gunfire outside his El Paso home in May.
