"Obama Promises Immigration Alamo"
by James Carafano
Tue, 18 August 2009 02:08
The New York Times reported August 10th: "President Obama on Monday reiterated his commitment to pursuing comprehensive immigration reform, despite his packed political agenda...." He must be serious; Obama has made that pledge to reporters twice in four days. On both occasions, the President also said he plans to start off where the Bush administration left off and introduce a bill that gives amnesty to the entire unlawful population in the United States (generally estimated at about 11 million). Reports are this bill is being written behind close doors with Congressional leaders and government officials and it is shaping up to be a wish list for activist groups. The plan is to finish drafting the bill this fall and introduce the legislation next year.................
Interesting. Any idea why the bill is being drafted 'behind closed doors'? Are the people drafting the bill ashamed of it? Is it something that would cause embarrassment if its contents became public? Why would anyone, working on a piece of legisation to benefit the public, want to do their work 'behind closed doors'? Do they figure it's "just none of our business"....or is it just that we're "incapable of understanding"?....

Just wondering....
Especially considering how we are led to believe that the 'majority' of Americans approve of comprehensive immigration reform, I can't imagine what it is that they are ashamed of.
Could it be that they don't want their names attached to this when they run for reelection?

"Cause when we get behind closed doors
Then she let's her hair hang down
And she makes me glad I'm a man Oh, no one knows what goes on behind closed doors
Behind closed doors............."
Isn't there something in the 1986 Amnesty bill Pres. Reagan signed into law, that states, There will never be another amnesty allowed, ever. That was the promise made, so he could get that bill passed.
Where can I find that bill and its entirety, to read what a sham it turned out to be, from what was written.
It is just another piece of paper if the laws are not enforced.
