Default (Phoenix) Drophouse busts are declining, but real trend unclear

Quote:

Police
have discovered fewer drophouses harboring illegal immigrants this year in metropolitan Phoenix, and authorities say they are also finding far fewer people stashed inside than in the past.

Local authorities have reported 144 drophouses to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials so far this fiscal year, which ends Sept. 30, compared with the 186 discovered in fiscal 2008.

And instead of 50 or 60 illegal immigrants
crammed inside a drophouse, police are finding only 15 or 20 people.
Drophouse busts are declining, but real trend unclear

And the hammer continues to fall...............may there be yet fewer drophouses busted

NO!

not "may there be fewer drop houses busted!"

let them continue busting drop houses.

let there be fewer illegals to bust.
let there be fewer drop houses to bust.

but i do wonder if the coyotes are in fact becoming more savy or using different neighborhoods (the neighbors always seem unaware of whats going on).
no clear trend...

Remember that we are alsio 'losing' quite a few of our illegal aliens as of late---------one big tipoff is quite a few grocery stores geared to the Hispanic clientele are closing their doors. Food City is a biggie.

Bear, have you noticed any significant drop in the illegal population in your area?

In the Northern/Central New Jersey area it seems like the numbers are growing.

Most definitely: remember that I live in Maricopa County (Sheriff Joe country) and; more and more houses/apartments in heavily Hispanic areas are now empty. Too; quite a few stores that catered to the 'immigrant' crowd have shut their doors.

In fact: a Wal-Mart near me has far fewer Spanish speakers compared to even a year ago...............many of not most of the 'brown' people there today are unaccented English speaking American Indians from the local Rez.
