My guess is they walked through South Los Angeles, East Los Angeles, and other notoriously middle and lower class areas and counted those who looked illegal. Because, after all, all the dark skinned Hispanics are illegal and this method is as full proof as a Census.
Clearly there is no way to closely estimate the number of illegal immigrants in Los Angeles County, let alone in the United States. Why do you think all of the estimates are 15-20 million? I wouldn't risk a limb for that margin of error.

That's not true. They can simply count the people coming in for public services who have what appear to be fake papers or no documentation at all.

If the LAPD keeps on shooting at them during immigration rallies maybe some will think about legal documentation.

That's interesting. According to the actual US Census Bureau numbers, the entire population of LA County is almost right at ten million, 36.2% of whom were foreign born. That would come to an upper limit of a little over 3.6 million versus your claim of 6.5 million. Can you explain the dsicrepancy?

The census does not count all illegals and that's probably why...it probably just guesses at the number....
