Yes.

Illegals as a group tend to have a 'you owe me' attitude since they are already thumbing their collective noses against Americans as a group.

If Canadians were entering the US illegally; if there were 15 or 20 million here; if they insisted they were 'staying', whether "we" liked it or not....if they used massive amounts of social services, and were a serious drain on our hospital system; if many of our prisons had 20 or 25% of their inmate populations consisting of illegal Canadians....and if these illegals made constant demands upon our politicians for all sorts of 'perks', including amnesty; AND if President Obama chided us all that we "ought to learn French"; and if those upset at the Canadian illegals were called "mean, selfish, nativist xenophobes" at every turn...then, in answer to your question...YES !!..people would care; the MIGHT even get a little upset at the "nerve" of these ungrateful invaders from the north.

NOW..if you add the hypothetical scenario that three million of these illegal Canadians had ALREADY RECEIVED amnesty in 1986....and that fact didn't seem to 'satisfy' them...if, instead of those 3 million being 'grateful', it only caused the PRESENT 20 million to feel "entitled"..then not ONLY would many Americans be "upset" with illegal Canadians...some of them might even be getting pretty close to ANGER.

Thanks for asking....hope this helps...

Not as much. No. We see them more like ourselves. Predominately White and English speaking. So if there were an influx of Canadians it would not be as much of an outrage.

We still, unfortunately, have a perception of what Hispanics are. Stereotypes abound. You can read many of the stereotypes on this board. I feel that the stereotypes pertaining to Canadians are not as negative. Many would less alienated, thus less angry...which would to less outrage.

Also, there is a LARGE racial component to the anti-illegal immigration movement. Not saying all are racist, but it does attract more than the general population. With this vocalized large minority of people, the fact that they are English speaking and White...that would lead to less of an outcry.

Of course some will be outraged, but not nearly to the extent we see now.

Not to mention it may be harder to find out who is illegal and who is not (English speaking and looking like the majority of the population. Whereas the majority currently are Spanish speaking and darker). So it would not be as obvious and thus not be as mobilizing to many people.

Canada has a worker permit law and tracks all of the aliens working there. They protect canadian jobs for legal canadians so we will never see them need to sneak into the USA. America could do the same if we werent ruled by big business......

I love it when pro illegal sympathisers/apologisers ask this question again and again, hoping to instill some kind of guilt in Americans. I always answer that people aren't as outraged because illegal Canadians are a much better class of illegals than your average illegal Mexican. Illegal Canadians being from a 1st world culture are educated, speak English and can assimilate seamlessly into American society. On the other hand illegal Mexicans being from a 3rd world culture don't speak much English, are poorly educated, are mostly from the dregs of Mexican society, don't really assimilate well, stand out like sore thumbs and **** the hell out of Americans. That's just the way it is.

Nail on head. Third worlders have no place here en masse. It would take many generations to get them up to a level where they can be independent and make their own way in this nation. Frankly we don't any longer have the resources to take on the world's castaways. Arrogance gone amok. It will be our downfall.

There's about 70,000 Canadian illegal immigrants in the United States.
