Has everyone noticed how the pro-illegals claim that their views and advocacy for amnesty for illegal aliens are based on humanitarism? Here is a point to ponder and a question for them. Let's say they get their way on amnesty. What about the rest of the large percentage of Mexicans for example who still want to migrate here for the same reasons that the newly amnestied did? As a true so-called humanitarian they would have to advocate for their permission to enter also then wouldn't they? How about the rest of the world's poor and destitute that wants to come here? As a true so-called humanitarian they would have to advocate for them to come here to, wouldn't they? Do they realize how many immigrants that would be? When would it end? It couldn't if they are the true humanitarians that they claim to be. They would have to allow them all in in keeping with their so-called humanitarism. It shouldn't matter that some are already here. Their needs are not any different than those still waiting. How do they respond to this?

Wow, I actually agree with you on something...

If we're talking humanitarian, many African countries have it much worse than any South, or Central American country, so wouldn't the right thing to do be to stop all immigration from SoB, and take in millions of poor Africans instead? Do you think La Raza would advocate for them?

The right thing to do, imo, is to control our borders first. If we must bring in immigrants to do jobs that we cant fill here, then we bring them with the intention of letting them stay. I dont care if they are from Africa, Asia, South America or the North Pole.

Perhaps you are unfamiliar with the concept of a work visa? If an electrician comes to rewire your house are you then obligated to allow him to live with you forever?

That doesn't answer by question about these so-called humanitarians. Securing our borders would be inhumane then, wouldn't it? It would prevent more of these poor souls from entering at will all in the name of humanitarism.

Yes, I agree instead of being blanket humanitarians we have to determine if we have jobs for them first. Unfortunately, many that are already here don't have jobs otherwise they wouldn't be hanging out at Home Depot and on corners begging for work. Jobs and the economy shouldn't be the only factor in increasing our population growth all in the name of humanitarism either. We have to be humanitarian to our own people first.

I don't care what country or ethnic group a potential immigrant is from either just that we give eveyone a fair shake at the American Dream rather than favoring one particular group.

Clearly, no matter what we do, it will NEVER be enough. When the last huge amnesty was granted, we were promised that it would solve our illegal immigration problems, and that we would never grant another of that magnitude. It was a lie then, and it’s a lie now. Amnesty only begets more amnesties by encouraging foreigners to continue to come here illegally, and simply wait for the next.

There is nothing humanitarian involved in greed.

Nothing humanitarian about it either when one vouches for an amnesty that will benefit mostly immigrants of their own ethnic group. It is more like racist ethnocentricism.

If we truly needed cheap labor based only on a cost/benefit ratio we would be loading up our military ships coming back from the middle East with poor Africans. They would work for far less than the current ones.

guilt is a very useful tool. there should be shame. but it should be about our governments refusal to enforce immigration laws. 21 milllion illegal mexican people here looking for work. our government does not know how they got here nor where they work.
