Advocates for day laborers and other low-wage workers are pushing for a new city law that would target unscrupulous employers by making wage theft a crime in the city of Los Angeles.

“People think that just because they pick up somebody on the street or at a day laborer center that they don’t have the responsibility to pay them if they don’t like the work,” Alarcon said. “This would make it illegal for somebody to do that.”

If I don't like the work, then it becomes a civil matter, just like anyone else that is in business for themselves.
They are hired as contract labor, not an employee on the books, because we all know it is illegal to employ an illegal alien.

Since these day laborers are under the law, contractors, they like any other contractor that doesn't get paid, must perfect a lien, and file a law suit. Being in business for yourself is tough. Why should they be singled out in contractor disputes. What makes them so special than any other business.

On another note, it may take care of the subcontracting game for legal Americans, some what.

I hope that illegal aliens start sueing the employers and take them for everything they have.

It would be nice to see the employers lose their business as well as the number of jobs supplied by these scumbags dry up for the illegals....

thats a win-win situation.
