If the U.S. wants to reduce the number of immigrants coming from Mexico and other nations, the U.S. needs to work for justice for the millions of poor and working people in Mexico and other nations.

Most immigrants would prefer to stay in their native lands if living conditions there greatly improved.
No, the Mexicans and other illegals need to grow a pair and work for improvement in their countries. They’re too cowardly to fight for change, yet expect us to be the giant teat for them to suck. How pathetic is that?

But But But we owe them. They keep saying that it was illegals who built this nation not the Citizens of this country.
Of course they blame us. Criminals seldom take the R for their own actions or their plight in life.
They cross illegally because we won't grant anyone and everyone a VISA.
Go to any prison in america and 90% of the inmate population has the same mentality for why it wrong that they are in prison.

While this is no doubt true...(that, in fact, pro-illegal supporters are placing the blame for the situation upon Americans....and upon the USA), it should come as no surprise to anyone. People who insist upon breaking laws, and insist upon continuing to do so as their "right", are going to be forced to blame someone else...or 'the system'...for what they're doing. Those who defend them are going to have to do likewise.

There are only a few alternatives to this..NONE of which we are ever likely to see happen. Imagine an article whose headline reads, "Pro-Illegal Alien supporter blames illegals' countries of origin for their plight".....or "Illegal-immigrant activist blames illegals themselves, and their life choices, for their present situation"....

No one would reasonably ever expect to see such statements....and no one ever will. As long as there is illegal immigration, there will be people 'blaming' it on someone, or some thing, besides the illegals themselves. More than likely, in our case, the blame will be placed on the selfishness, xenophobia, racism, short-sightedness, or just plain 'mean-spiritedness' of America, and its people.....and a good number of Americans will agree.

When you're doing something wrong, you must either insist that it's NOT WRONG....or else, you must look for a place to assign BLAME. When you find such a place, and when those whom you're blaming AGREE with you, then "blame" becomes a 'no-brainer'.

So illegals' tough situation is the "fault" of Americans? Well...of COURSE it is. Why am I not surprised?

Don Schrader must have just woken up from a long sleep ! His arguements/ statements are so old and overused that they have little impact today. He is just another "blame America" fruitcake who continues to add tired worn out phrases to the same old arguement.

Mr Schrader. Your irrelevency is becoming irrelevent, and I oppose and reject everything You believe in....And Oh, yeah....

Bite Me !

The great irony is, all of the immigrants who came here through Ellis Island were fleeing for the same reason - they didn't want to improve their countries. So there most viable option was to come to the U.S. Some could argue they were too cowardly to fight and change conditions in their respective country's, others might argue that fighting wasn't an option either. Of course I'm not comparing legal immigration to the illegal immigration currently going on, what I am comparing is the reasons both groups of immigrants came to the U.S in the first place.

I'd say it's more like 95%. What Tinman was alluding to here is the inmate population as a whole....ALL prisoners. I'm pretty sure you'd find that MOST people in prison, if they were asked, would tell you that it wasn't "their fault" that they were locked up....it was somebody else's fault.....maybe the 'cops'...maybe the judge...maybe 'the system'...maybe their parents. But SOMEONE ELSE caused them to end up in prison..not 'themselves'.

I'm dealing with a particularly difficult nephew just now...he's 14. His many problems with the school system and the law aren't HIS fault..they're the fault of his teachers...the police....his mother....his neighbors...or just an 'unfair society', with a lot of 'stupid rules'. The fact that he's failing in school and getting the attention of the police isn't HIS fault...it's somebody else's. Hopefully, he may mature some day..he's 14. But until he does, he will remain convinced that "somebody" is screwing up his life....not him. He knows the rules...he just doesn't think they apply to him. Rules are 'stupid', and they apply only to 'stupid' people...not to people like him. Just like illegal immigrant activists, who will tell you that their problems are caused by SOMEBODY...but never by 'them'.

Remember too that a lot of potential legal immigrants were rejected at Ellis Island and had to return home so we tended to get the cream of the 'bottom feeder' crop who usually had the potential to do well here.
