Of course the system works. That’s why the greedy employers and pro-illegals don’t want it to be used. They’re afraid illegals might be forced to leave if they can’t find work.

It was my understanding that checking out the validity of a worker's papers only applied to new hires and not ones already working. I hope I am wrong by your above example.

All employees working for government contractors must be verified. Unfortunately, employers who do not have contracts with the government are not required to use E-Verify, it’s voluntary – and, there is no mandate to verify current employees, only new hires.
Unless E-Verify is mandated for all employers; and unless ALL employees are verified, illegals currently working will be given a free pass, and employers will continue to hire them. Even illegals realize the effectiveness of this program. They know they can no longer rely on fake documents, which has resulted in a surge in ID theft by illegals.
Illegals are now more desperate than ever; as are the greedy traitorous cretins who employ them. Everyone should regularly check their credit, check to ensure their minor children’s SSNs aren’t being used, as well as their deceased relatives.

I'm a long term employee and I had to show my original SS# of which they actually verified.

Is it a felony to loan relatives false docs? If so we need a few "examples" to be made to curb it.
