The cost to deport immigrants from Canada can reach up to $500,000 according to an immigration lawyer. I keep reading that it would cost a lot to deport everyone here in the US but I have never actually seen a number. Even in this article, the CBSA was not available to comment. I wonder if the government wants to keep this information away from the public. If they do, I would understand. If they showed the true numbers and total cost to deport, illegal immigration into this country would be way worse, imo.

It can cost up to $500,000 to send a foreign citizen home if a chartered plane and police and medical escorts are necessary, according to the Canadian Border Services Agency. The average cost of removing someone without an escort is $1,500, while escorted removals average $15,000, the CBSA reports.

Has anyone seen raw numbers for the cost of deportation from the US? Do you think our government is trying to hide this info from the general public?
