MOUNT PLEASANT — Pleasant Places, Inc. landscaping faces a $24,000 state fine for alleged violations of the South Carolina Illegal Immigration Reform Act, officials said Thursday.

Since July 1, the state Office of Immigration Worker Compliance has cited 16 businesses for violations of the new law after conducting audits at 550 firms.

Yea The paying of cash and keeping no records on who you are paying is coming to an end...We got to have a valid SS number, and Id so we can make sure the taxes are being paid.

When an illegal is paid cash, taxes are paid to some extent on that cash. The guy paying cash cannot deduct that from his profits, which they will pay the taxes on.

We desperately need e-verify made mandate in all workplaces. This corruption by both employers and the illegal employees has got to stop. Americans need those jobs right now at a fair wage.

At the rate things are going, no one will be employed. Anyone working, will be mislabeled a contractor, subcontracting.
