They shouldn't be taxed on their illegally obtained incomes, they should be deported. Returned to their homelands and they can work and pay taxes there.

Harvard LATINO law review? Oh yeah, that's a source I would trust, lol. Dobb's could back up his stats from VIABLE sources most of the time.

I am always baffled by reports heralding the tax contributions of illegal aliens. First, if we don’t know who they are or where they are, how do we know for a “fact” that they are indeed paying taxes? Is there a separate “secret” tax code designated for illegal aliens? When they pay taxes using a stolen or fake SSN, the IRS doesn’t know that these are taxes paid by illegal aliens, so how "exactly" are the tax payments of illegal aliens enumerated?

Second, if they ARE paying taxes, whose SSN are they using, and what nightmares have they created for the “real” owners of the SSN? Do we know how many citizens are stuck with tax bills and the ensuing problems with the IRS because millions of dollars in wages are being reported under their SSNs by illegals? Do we know how many citizens are being denied unemployment benefits because the records indicate they are working, when in reality, illegals are working by using their SSN? Do we know how many children have gone hungry because their parents are denied government assistance because the records indicate someone is already receiving benefits under their SSN? Do we know how many citizens are being denied necessary medical care because an illegal is using their SSN to receive thousands of dollars in medical treatment?

Finally, why should foreigners who have violated our laws by living in this country illegally, working in this country illegally, stealing SSNs, forging documents, lowering wages, displacing workers, bankrupting hospitals, overcrowding schools, have the temerity to believe they should be entitled to ANYTHING but prosecution and deportation? What gives them the right to expect representation in a country in which they have no legal presence?

Whatever taxes they may or may not pay are but a pittance compared to the astronomical costs associated with ER visits, organ transplants, dialysis, welfare, WIC, prenatal/postnatal care, K-12 education – including ESL classes, and free breakfast/lunch, and myriad other tax-funded benefits and services.

Unfortunately, we are prohibited from inquiring about the immigration status of students attending our public schools, and patients seeking treatment at our hospitals. Therefore, the true magnitude of this massive illegal intrusion cannot be accurately ascertained. We can only rely on estimates, and those estimates are staggering. As taxpaying citizens, we should have the right to know the exact costs associated with illegal immigration. If you want to discuss taxation without representation, let’s discuss these issues and our government’s refusal to divulge those costs to the people who are footing the bill.

Benicar, if your words don't wake up a few illegal alien apologists then I don't know what will.

I know of an incident where unemployment benefits were paid to illegals under stolen SS numbers in a company. When the employees whose SS numbers they actually belonged to filed their income tax returns the IRS wouldn't give them their refunds because they said that they hadn't claimed all of their income on their returns which were the unemployment dollars that these illegals were receiving under these stolen SS numbers. An investigation ensued and it was found that a ring of theives all with Hispanic surnames were at the bottom of this. Coincidently the stolen SS numbers belonged to workers who also had Hispanic surnames. These illegals screwed their own people! It took months to straighten it out and many of these employees desperately needed their refunds to pay bills.

Whoooooweeeeee!

My original surname sounds 'Hispanic'; thank God I legally adopted a stereotypical Anglo-Saxon one.

About 7% of those folks with my birth name are Hispanic.

This is very common. Millions of citizens have had their lives ruined due to illegals “borrowing” their SSN.

So, if a group called the HARVARD White Law Review came out with an report that said illegal immigrants cost more in government services than they actually put into our economy, would you expect Latino advocacy groups to accept their findings without question?

Not only would the (Mestizo) Latino advocacy groups cry foul----------they themselves would scream racism.

Hypocrites.

I'm with Benicar on this..if they are here illegally and working "under the table" and living "in the shadows" then how in heck can anyone GET FACTS on these people ?

Anchor babies are citizens and qualify for social services. Now..how can they tell that a newborn American citizen is an anchor baby or not since they cannot ask the status of the parents ?
The parents of the anchor baby are using social services that are not rightfully due them but the legal system allows that.

All these FACTS are estimates and modelling at best. Until you grant total amnesty you will never know the true numbers.

The strain on our systems is evident in some states..yet it's all "don't ask".
