Napolitano pronounces US border more secure now

I agree because "showing up" is not a qualification. Make it so hard it weeds out every single person who won't assimilate. That should take care of 90% of them.

Note that Janet is for legalization of these illegals though. I disagree with her.

Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano says many of the benchmarks Congress set in 2007 for border security have been met.
Hogwash! If our borders are so secure, how are illegals still coming on a daily basis? How are the drug cartels still bringing their poison into this country? This is nothing but propaganda intended to make us believe that we can now proceed to Phase 2. . . . legalization for those currently here. Remember, they promised they wouldn’t consider a path to citizenship for illegal aliens until our borders were secured.

You are right, the borders are no more secure than they ever were and there are many people moving illegally over it. Now if they can't find cheap paying jobs, they are demanding asylum claiming they're afraid of violence back home.

Unemployment rates are significantly lower in Mexico than in the USA but that doesn't influence the many people coming over.

Not only that but all they have to do is produce one U.S. citizen on our soil and they can live off of the welfare provided for them till they are 18 with some part time job working under the table for added income. Two or more anchor babies and they don't have to worry about not having a job at all.

Smoke & Mirrors!
What are the incentives for them NOT to come here illegally and work for those your fixing to grant a path to???

Your not solving the problem, your making it worse!!

If someone would just wake up and be American enough not to line their pockets with greed as a corrupt politician, and go after the F'n guys and gals giving them the reason to come here. and while they are there, tie the F'n knot in the 14th anchor baby amendment.

The loophole of the 14th should have been closed 40 years ago when the problem started. Now there are millions here compliments of the back door immigration loophole these ingrates want to keep it open.

It's about as un-American as one can get imo. We have laws for a reason and sneaking into the Country should carry much harsher penalties.
